What the f**k! like Lyon, Bailey will take a bit of time to really start playing well. Solution? Swap them around! Lyon was playing awesome at 5/8 last season and this season has been the only player looking good.

On Orford, horrible horrible four games. Was that 3 kicks out on the full today? He is in terrible form, and not leading from the front. Give the captaincy to Kite, Choc or Glenn Stewart.

Also, I think Foran just play some role agaisnt the Tigers. Either starting 5/8 to just take some pressure off Orford. Or come off the bench, Ballin can play 80. Give Stranger a week in ressies. I am not saying Lestrange is the problem, its Orford, but honestly, Ox wont be dropped, cant be dropped. As much as he needs a kick in the assm it wont happen.

lyon is playing so well in the centres though... where the hell do we put bailey when lyon is back? and say we move him to 5/8th and put tony williams into centre (wherever the hell he is)

It's not just the halves, it's the entire backline.

Today................. First choice
1. Robertson......... 1. Stewart
2. Bani................. 2. Robertson
3. Neumman......... 3. Lyon
4. Matai................ 4. Matai
5. Williams............ 5. Williams
6. Bailey............... 6. Bailey
7. Orford.............. 7. Orford

Week 1....No B.Stewart, D.Williams, T.Williams

Week 2....No B.Stewart, D.Williams, T.Williams. Suniula injured during the game.

Week 3....No B.Stewart, D.Williams, T.Williams, Suniula. Lyon injured during the game.

Week 4....No B.Stewart, T.Williams, Suniula, Lyon. Matai injured during the game.

It sure would be nice to get our number 1 backline, all on the field at once.

Bailey isn't doing much to change my pre-season opinion - He isn't a first grade 5/8th.

I still cannot fathom why a premiership winning halves combination was split up? Whilst Lyon has been awesome in the centres, our attack is still stagnant and lacking direction. Which is directly visible through the severe lack of points.

We dominated the first 20 minutes yesterday but only had six points to show for it. Not good enough tbh.

As per daddycool's post, I never thought taking one or two players from our backline would make such a difference. Our defence on the fringes is attrocious - It didn't take Newcastle long to work out "Run at Neuman!".

If we don't fire up against the Tigers, I can't see us making the eight.

I haven't rated Neumann at all. He still hasn't learnt to trust his inside man in defence. I hope to God Matai and Lyon are both ok for this week. The return of Brett Stewart will see that backline improve leaps and bounds. Maybe try Bailey in the centres and Lyon 5/8?

lyon was the shining corn cernal in the turd that was manlys first 4 games...

i agree, ox is playing like a joke...
léstrange is playing like a joke, but with a worse punchline..

we need a new goal kicker, ox has let us down one to many times (even in the gf last year he was second rate)

if we can get injury free, it will be totally different...

it sucks, but honestly, if you were to ask me, or any manly fan in october last year : would you like manly to beat the storm in the grand final by a record margin (that will NEVER be beaten) and hold them to 0, but as a consequence manly will play like sh*t in 2009... i'd still know what i'd be picking...

Bailey is a good bench utility who can come on and play abit of backrow, abit of 5/8th and abit of centre, abit like Shane Rodney. He can offload abit, has a step and isn't afraid to try things, problem is he hasn't got good enough defence to be a fulltime backrower and he hasn't got the vision and kicking game to be a fulltime 5/8th.
