I am a Brian Smith fan.....
I can't help but wonder if, when on the field, the boys aren't following his initial instruction/game plan?!?!?

He can't be held responsible for dropped balls, incorrect choice of options.... etc....
Our attack had nothing tonight!!!

I seriously can't see how he can be held responsible.....

Poor Brian

Are you being serious, or is this post being made in jest?

How can he not be help responsible? He's the one who went out and purchased or retained the so called 'footballers' who went around tonight. He's the one devising the game plan which had no success. He's the one who develops our defensive strategy. If he isn't to blame who is. Sack him.

He is responsible becasue his the coach.

He is responsible because he has signed the crap that are playing out there today.

He is responsible because he has just resigned Burt and wagon to new contracts when they are just f**king shit.

He is responsible because the players are confused when they are out there and when the pressure is on they choke.

he is reponsible because we lost to reserve grade side tonight.

But then again u are entitled to your opinion.

Burt is playing shi*t... hebce, why he has been demoted to 1st divvy. 1 point to Smithy.
We had the ball down our end often enough... we could capitalise!!!! Thorman wanting to take the 2 points and wags making him take the tap, whats doing there???
I tend to think we have issues in passing left as we continuly went to the right side of the field with no success.
Did we not get rid of irvine????

Why is smith responsible if the players are confused???? Are they invalids that need to be told 20 times????

A good enough players would see that something isn't working, not wait to be instructed by his coach.

If the players are confused they are confused because Smith hasn't made it clear to them what he wants. As a coach he is responsible for that, and if he doesn't then he is failing at his job. These 'good enough players' should see that something isn't working, and as a coach Brian should fix it. He hasn't fixed up anything from last week I can tell you that.

Even last year I was defending Smith with. I just can't do it anymore. His post match interview was a sick joke. I'm sorry but Smith has lost me. He is like a cricketer who has played one year too many and doesn't know when to retire. Except for Smith it is two and a bit years

There was alot more go forward tonight in the first 1/2 of each half, so that is obviously something he has addressed since last week.

The team had a few hapless jokes out there tonight. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Widders, Langi, Moi Moi, Graham, Stapleton, Webster Muckert are simply not up to first grade standard. You could have JC in charge of the team and he would not make them first graders. You cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Wade McKinnon was OUTSTANDING. Thorman good in patches, Wagon again tackled his slot out, Morris looked out of sorts with no runners, Dykes was very ordinary, Grothe's positional play in defence is woeful, Vella played like a tranny, Petersen tried hard . The coach cannot play the game for the players. They have to perform.
St Geo were too good tonight. They had ten out. We had eight. Still not good enuff.
I think it is time to move the old players out and gradually replace them with the new. We BADLY need a good dose of enthuasism.

Well he only identified one problem then didn't he? How about when we had 4 consecutive sets of 6 in the Melbourne 20 and couldn't come up with a try, he didn't solve that problem. We had a million chances tonight and none of our tactics worked. Smith saying to his forwards "run straight and forward" is hardly an ingenius tactic is it?

I am a Smith supporter as you all well know....I am not going to blame all our woes on him....he UNDOUBTEDLY has to take a chunk of the blame.

We do have patches of decent play - and St George played above themselves at times.

But we SUCKED LIKE ALL HELL for large patches of that game AND Smithy YOU MUST PLEASE, OH PLEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSE, ADMIT THAT....I don't believe Smithy thinks we are good, he may well give it to em all behind closed doors, BUT he's gotta come out and say it publicly for a change and get some frickin response from the players!!!

A first grade football side should be showing more than just 'decent play'. I hope Smith gives it to the players, they deserve a hiding.

Blaming the players is an option after one, two or maybe 3 bad games. Parra are up to three SEASONS of shit, which means the coach is the one who needs to shoulder the blame.

As much as I'm against Smith at the moment, I have to accept the fact that he is the coach and he is going to be there for the immediate future. Although I think he should resign, I still hope he can turn things around. I never said he was the only one to blame, the players did their part and a significant part at that.

Smith brought McKinnon back to parra this season....MacKinnon is one of a few showing passion.

I'm not prepared to blame it all on Smithy.....but for God's sake get a bit pissed off with how we are travelling Brian - and God damn show it!!!

A few years ago we were doing well....people believe Smithy is just stale - yet you state he did nothing for players back then - was it all the players on their own then?
