You think cos she sent it to her friends her face should be splashed about in the papers? She' a minor and its an unproven allegation.

Yep, those papers could be given a huge fine or even criminal action for publishing details of a minor in a case where there may be a sexual crime against a minor. I wouldn't think even our low standard rags would risk that.

the old "nothing illegal happened" defense rears its head again

you must be constantly confused and outraged

Agreed, the case seems pretty simple to me.

If the girls were at a bar, and the players picked them up, and they had some reason to believe they were not minors, and the club (their employer) didn't have some restrictions on their behaviour for the trip, then they have done nothing wrong.

But in this case...they were invited to a school where they met the girls, that means there was some reason to believe they were minors, and the club says they did put restrictions on what they could do. So really, the players seem to have no good defense here.

If someone wants to go out and bang school girls they meet at a pub, I couldn't care less (as long as they have a reasonable suspicion they aren't under age, and being at a pub would be a good basis for that). NRL players in particular should have no problems doing this.

But no school is going to want to invite the Bulldogs back anytime soon. Plenty of schools will have doubts about having any NRL team visit. And plenty of parents of school girls will share those concerns. This undoes years of good work the NRL has tried to do in schools.

For players not to know this, just because it isn't illegal, is stunning.

Rather than just ignore users, you should be able to tag them with handy reminders for when you read their future posts
'possible pedo'
'obvious alt account'
'rates matt moylan'
etc
Not sure if I should have but I got a chuckle out of this post. Thank you

Unless the girls were teachers, it doesn't really matter how old they are. I mean, obviously it would be much, much worse if they were below the age of consent...but it is the fact that they were visitors at the school and she was a student
Their conduct was grossly inappropriate after visiting a school.

The proper question is, WTF were they actually thinking?

Are you serious?!?!?!? There not gonna smash sick kids at the hospital! Wake up mate
Not that I work there anymore but the point is that the hospital had a symbiotic relationship with the club. Through Dr George the club would throw the hospital a few quid and the hospital would provide the team with a backdrop when they needed a good news story.

Letting these bogans into the hospital would not be good for either side.

In any case anyone, other than a relative, who goes to a Children’s ward needs a Working with Children Check issued by the NSW Police. The definition of a child under the act is under 18 not under 16. I wonder if these 2 would actually get a WWCC

My guess is that there is still a possibility of legal proceedings, and under 18’s aren’t named in criminal cases in NSW.

Sending pornographic material of a person who is under 18 is still illegal if you’re under 18. Even if it is photos of yourself.

Of course it is. I had overlooked that.

Not now that I'm reminded she's a minor in terms of the above, no.
