has any sports game has had an ankle tap button on the same button as the tackle button(rugby games)


Mario is it possible to include an ankle tap button on the same tackle button for a possible sequel

what i mean is say if a player is running down the field and is about a metre away from the person that you want to tackle intead of doin nothing it does an ankle tap

just imagine playing with a mate and he is about to score a try to win the grand final he is about to score then you press the button an you ankle tap him just milimetres from the tryline and it is the last tackle you held him up. time runs out you win the game

Yes, Rugby League does that.

An ankle tap will result in the ball holder tumbling forward, so you'll need to get another defender on top of them to complete the tackle.

The real tackling issue is near the tryline. Being held up all the time for example. I mean the big guys should be able to use their strength to try and still get the ball down.

i hate the defensive holes near the line too. all too often my players amass next to each other (like 3 or 4 defenders standing on top of each other running in circles),

the held up thing is an issue too, particularly when you are diving down and suddenly are staanding upright!

I'm not sure I do understand.

Currently, in using the tackle button in Rugby League you will either tackle a player or ankle tap the player, depending on how far away from the player you are and whether or not you are trailing behind them.

How else would you want it to work, given you are requesting for tackle and ankle tap to be on the same button?

I didn't think that was in the first rugby league game
how come it doesnt work for me

In order to ankle tap a player, you need to be

1. Trailing behind a player by a couple of metres
2. Not gaining on them (possibly losing ground gradually)


Pressing the tackle button in this situation should ankle tap the player. If you are too close or are gaining, then you will do a normal tackle from behind (which is a better result than an ankle tap). If you are too far behind or losing ground rapidly, then you will be out of ankle tap range and nothing will happen.

We haven't even confirmed a sequel, so I couldn't possibly speculate on what teams may or may not be included.

yeah im starting to think there wont be another sequel
sidhe interactive our working on three titles so i dont think they will have time for a rugby league sequel

EA doesn't have a development studio in Australia, only sales and marketing.
