Surely you remember the original ... a John Carpenter CLassic.

Good old Michael Myers eh ...

Let me just say one thing, i found it highly disturbing to see the actor who played Michael Myers, as a 10 year old. Good to see Mr Zombie appreciates the genre where most of his music comes from ... but seeing a 10 year old do that sort of sh*t ? Man, i have to say that movie thoroughly disturbed me. As the movie went on, i actually found myself cheering for Michael ... now that CANNOT be right lol

Yes the movie sucked ... but i still find it difficult to get over Michael Myers as a 10 year old. The more i think about it, the better Rob Zombie actually did.

Still a classic movie script though ... thank you Mr Carpenter.

So who's seen it ?

I think Rob's movie was trying to ask a question...

Whats worse ? A sadistic child who murders his whole family so BRUTALLY, that noone can believe it really happened. OR

Locking the same child up in isolation with no human contact whatsoever apart from his shrink, for the next 15-20 years. IF he's ever released or worse, he escapes then WATCH OUT !!

Who then is worse ? Human Beings or Michael Myers ?

I haven't seen it, but I do think Rob has some interesting ideas flowing through his head. I can certainly appreciate what he was trying to do, even if it did involve using gratuitous violence and gore to achieve it (mind you, I am not squeamish; I just prefer atmosphere than gore).

At least you tried :)

How funny - I was just listening to Rob Zombie's Past, Present and Future last night for the first time in ages.

He is a very, very disturbed man - and I'm a big fan!

But haven't seen the movie yet.

Congrats to R.Zombie.
He actually managed to crank out a worse Halloween film than the released version of Halloween 6

I think the man has some interesting concepts, that's for sure. And I will try to catch his film. I've heard nothing but bad things about it, but to me, critics are all pretentious know-nothings anyway.

movie wasnt that good IMO, seen far more disturbing TBH, house of 1000 corpses will flip you out if halloween was too disturbing.

It wasn't a hard call to make. The butchered version of Halloween 6 was pathetic. This latest "offering" was worse - much worse.
Zombie could have made his white-trash serial killer wet dream without pizzing all over the Michael Myers mythos.
Oh, and drugs may have made this LCD POS somewhat bearable(maybe)

About half way through it I thought to myself, 'Rob should stick to music', because it wasn't that well put together a film IMO; or particularly good. But compared to other horror films it wasn't that bad, and he seems to know the genre reasonably well.

He does get points for sticking in 'Heaven and Hell' in one scene though!

All you pricks that have seen the new Halloween are watching f**king black market illegal copies as the prick hasn't been released yet.

You're all supporting black market pirate DVD copies, assholes.

When the f**k do us normal humans get to see it?

What, is that bad, is it?
It flopped at the cinema as it only raked in 33 mill in the U.S..
I said this on their official site and they erased my posting.

A) you aint normal, you're a Souffs fan.

b) you are quite possibly geniused as well. Congrats.

What about the people who import American DVDs to Oz ? It NEVER occurred to you that this movie came here from the States, when it was released MANY moons ago? Why it is NOT shown here, is NOT my business.

Here's my Rob Zombie Hallloween rundown.

Coming attractions: Alien versus Predator 2 better deliver. It looks good. Looks like something cross between Deliverance and Walkin' Tall.

So Myers was a young grunge rocker from Seattle eh?
Yer, yer, I can see that.
(This kid playing Myers looks an awful lot like that kid from Detroit Rock City. Remember the Quick-e-mart scene where the guy tried to steal his tickets? And his brother was a wrestler?)

I'm glad that Zombie gave this a rock feel and none of that rap flavour (H-20 Ressurection)

Myers was never 7 foot tall. The blue-print cloned Myers moved too fast to.

Is it fair that we compare the two versions?

I didn't like how they painted Myers as this kid who came from a dysfunctional red neck family and I especially didn't like how he spoke like a normal kid.
In my TV DVD copy at home I like how the kid just sits at the windown staring and breathing deep, comotose and morose looking out into nothing
.
A few other actors made appearances I noticed. There was that Indian guy from Sherry Baby. (He's always a baddy in movies)
Was that C.J. the security guard from Dawn of the dead, the new one? Playing the warderly in the hospital?

The truck driver who fights Myers in the sh*t house, where have I seen him before?
He's been in other films. Was that....was he Benny from TX Chainsaw 3?

The end credits rolled and I saw Dee Wallace name appear. For gods sake which one was she in this new version? I didn't pick up on that.
Who else was in the new one that was in the original one and did Zombie make an appearance himself?

The truck driver put up a good fight against Myers I felt. Kind of met his match.
Gave it a draw.

The way Myers escapes was a bit of a cop out.
5 guards armed with 12 guage SG's my ass!

Baseball scene was similar to De Niro in Untouchables. Smashed that kids head into crushed pineapple. Bit graphic.

They missed my fav scenes in the new one.
Mainly 3 scenes.
The part where the shop's broken into "took a couple a knives and rope."
The part where they trip Tommy over in the school with the pumpkin then Myers following him. I love how he bumps into Myers in the original. The music.
And I felt they didn't focus much on the high school either.
More school scenes, please.
The way young Myers kills the first kid and just goes on eating candy oblivious to the fact what he's just done was a nice touch. Gave it no second thought and just went on.
The part in the hallway when he's killing Judith was wicked. The big head mask and half body person. It looked wicked. He looked like a mini Myers. It was evil. Well done. I liked it.

Guy swinging from the rafters with a pumpkin on his head was a nice touch.

That's sort of what's wrong with most of these movies.......they shouldn't start the movie on October 31st Halloween day.....start a few days beforehand and work up to the day.
I think part 6 did this?

Myers mask at certain angles looks a lot like a Slipknot mask.

Did anyone sense that there was a feel to this new one a combination of parts 1, 4 and 6? Zombie's sort of captured moments from other Halloweens as well.
It's safe to say that there will be NO new part 2 as she pretty much finished him off right?
I thought the graveyard bit where Loomis is with that guy looking for head stones was a bit childish with the religious desecration of that dead animal.
Since when was Myers creative?
That was a flaw.
I still prefer the original.
Again, Myers was never that tall and didn't move with such alacrity.

Ken Foree, and he was Benny in TCM 3 as well as Peter in Dawn of the Dead(1978){he was in the remake as well but that crapfest is best forgotten} and Bubba in From Beyond

Mr Dark

I just went to log in to reply to you and I'm putting your name in as my log in.

You didn't like the new Dawn of the dead? I've actually grown to like it.

Mainly because of the two female stars in it.

One: The orange haired POPPY chick from Cry Wolf who has an outstanding body.

And 2: The doctor chick in it who is a splitting image of this Franklin's chick I dedicate wanks to most nights who works at my local.

I actually like the remake of DOTD.

CJ was excellent too.

What'd you think of the new Halloween? It was set at a fast pace and didn't mess around and I sort of lean toward the original.
I'm still scared to this day to watch the bit where jamie lee goes into that house where the grave stone is.
There's not a more frigtning movie than the original.
Although.....part 2 has its moments down in the basement with the axe.

The new Halloween is already out on DVD in the states. Believe that?

It's an ok movie I guess but Rob Zombie better get his own material as most of his movies to date steal others chasis's.

That 1000 corpse thing was a blatant rip-off to Texas chainsaw 2.

I didn't even bother with Rejects.

R. Zombie can't make his own material.

Joel Caine number 1 fan? (Change your name guy)

The first portion of the film was promising, kind of.

But the second half turned into the same old typical smart arse 90's 2000 movie with teenagers full of attitude.

Hey...what is Zombie's music like?

If you were to recommend a best of album which one? He has about 3 I believe?

What is his best song and is it worth coming in this late on his music?

No one can make an honest spine chilling thriller these days.

Mate, I'd buy Past, Present and Future.

It has a good mix of his solo stuff as well as some White Zombie. I mean, what Rob Zombie album is complete without More Human Than Human?
