Have the NSW selectors made a mistake?

So how's it work?

Hindmarsh is up on a grapple tackle charge and will get a week's suspension if he takes an early guilty plea.

He's been selected in SOO so he wouldn't of played for the Eels next weekend.

If he gets a week does he miss SOO III?

If he does then they have made a monumental error. Maybe we should of had a TBA as well?

Perhaps he'll simply get looked after by the judiciary and not get suspended. Don't see how though as every other player up on a grapple tackle charge has had a vacation.

Wing's a grave doubt for the match as well. 18th man Watmough out for 6 weeks.

Hm, Bailey has been in great form and deserves a run, but i can't see it happening.. They would probably bring O'Meley in, and push Simpson into the Second-row..

I mentioned it in the QLD side thread mate, i dont think its an error, I just think that its not the way the blues have ever done it. QLD has a track record of using the TBA trick, the blues, from memory havent before.

O'Meley 4 Hindy sounds like a logical move. He's not the tackling machine Hindy is but he adds a lot more metres and I think given the cream puffs are the starting props again that grunt is exactly what the blues need.

It'll be hard not to cheer for Qld when it's Nutley vs. the Dragons though. Might have to invest in some Maroons gear.

apparently both NSW and QLD agreed after the Tuquiri incident that a state with a player suspended can NOT use the TBA trick

it is still legal but a gentlemans agreement between NSW and QLD meant that the TBA can't be used for suspension reasons

obviously it still can be for injury purposes

This is bloody dodgy.

They should be forrced to name a player. If that player is ruled out on Monday or Tuesday next week with injury, then so be it. But at least said player won't be able to run around on the weekend.

Otherwise, why not just let all Origin reps play for their clubs this weekend?

Even with a one match ban, Hindmarsh will effectively banned for 2 games if he's banned from this round. Like Jack said, maybe NSW should have not named him, naming Rooney or someone instead, then ruling that 'fill in' out with injury on Monday.
