Have you seen a better front row performance

Lol made him his bitch, Sam definitely got one over JWH that night but it was hardly complete dominance. Was great to watch 2 guys go at it. Both finished on 12 hit ups for 114m and made 35 tackles.

Bronx forwards didn't want a bar of JWH in the return match for the 25 mins he was on the field before getting injured.
Speaking of owned, I do believe Scott and Tamou made Thaiday their own personal whore in the GF.

Surely one of the worst GF performances by a forward in history by Sam '3 good games a year' Thaiday.

Pity my memory is reaching its used-by date, must've seen at least a thousand equally good if not better front row performances in the past 50+ years. Come to think of it, I could not watch another game and live off the memories . . . if only they'd stay where they're put

Not saying last night was the best ever, but it was pretty damn good, you'll have to give him that.

There may be examples in the history books of better defensive performances, but what made Napa's seem so great was that defence generally these days is just an ugly and boring aspect of the game. It was like a reminder that defence can and should be good to watch.

Matt Scott destroyed the much hyped Cronulla pack single-handedly last year in a game that actually meant something. That is just the first one that comes to mind.

Napa will benefit from being in the Queensland camp to learn from the greats like Scott.

I was impressed with Napa the other night, defensively. In attack he doesn't offer a lot. Without meaning to come across biased, Fifita in today's game was a better overall performance. That's my opinion anyway.

There's not a whole lot to Napa's attacking game.

It's pretty much just hit the ball up, granted he usually gets good metres and he's only a prop so it's all he really needs but yeah someone like Graham or Fifita have him covered in attack. He does have an offload in him though.

So was Webcke, (caught using steroid masking agent), but keep that head in the sand.

Yeah, failed one test in 2001 for a drug to repair his infected knee. Totally different to admitted drug cheat Gallen, who was juiced when he played that Origin game. Which is now tainted, like his career, the drug cheat.

1. Rugby league has developed a real tendency to exaggerate the performances and standing of our players in recent years. Someone has a couple of good games and suddenly they're in career best form or a future immortal. Johns brothers are prolific at this.

2. This wasn't a big game. Ie not a final, GF or origin.

3. I'm biased with my chooks and I really dislike souffs

That said, I reckon it was as exciting a display by a front rower that I have ever seen. His stats were great and that's all good, but not really relevant. Two things really stand out to me:

1. He played the full 80 minutes. I know old timers will point to all the other props who did that in years gone by, but we all know the game they play today is vastly different to that of years gone by

2. He put on a series of hits, the likes of which I have never seen by a single player in one game. It was a seriously awesome display of hitting that was relentless and absolutely brutal.

The souffs pack need some serious soul searching. I've never seen an entire pack on the hop like that from a single opposition player. He just owned them and they all knew it.

So best ever? I dunno about that, but without doubt it has to be right up there.
