Hayne 5th choice

Yeah I know. Remember him dropping that pass that hit him a bit high?

Yes - I recall him being unable to fulfill his part in the offence.

If that's 'chiming in' then the term has no meaning.

If you want to debate the semantics of 'chiming in' fine - I could care less. My point is that most fullbacks today take the ball 2 wide of the ruck with options to pass or run. Hayne does that better than any of them (and has more plays run for him accordingly)

His defensive reads are just fine. Or have you forgotten all the intercepts he took from wing at Origin and club level?

Nope!
Neither have I forgotten all his try savers; LBAs or try assists from fullback (+general kicking).

I'm with Twizzle - what's the point in putting the best playmaker (player?) in NSW out on the wing?
Put him at fullback and ask him to win you the game - he might just do it. He's the only NSWelshman with the talent to do so.

Me too PPE.

Me three.

But I think he's an excellent choice at FB. Can't see why we'd bring prefer Hoppa (who has played wing for manly this year) and the corpse of Minni at FB over Hayne at FB, Hoppa on the wing and one of the many decent center candidates to "fill in" for Jennings for a game.

Oh wait - yes I can. The only reason Ricky won't pick him at FB is because he's saving the spot for Dugan in game 3. He knows Hayne will shine there and he'll cop more flak for putting Dugan back there in game 3.

It's all a big game for Sticky - us poor fans have to cop another losing series as a result.

We were going to lose this series regardless, imo. Qld is just too strong, too much depth and experience right across the park.

Next year might be a different story though - not because Sticky is particularly talented, but just because after all the various situations/injruies etc he'll end up with a range of players with Origin experience to choose from, and they'll have more confidence that they can actually get close to the Qlders (after playing a bit "understrength" this series).

Ricky's also one of those old school rural/suburban white merkins. Blokes from that culture generally don't see eye to eye with young blokes from this newer multicultural urban environment.

To be honest I don't always understand it myself and I'm from western Sydney.

This clash of cultures is also apparent in the army, or at least it was when I was there.

Well after watching last nights game all I can say is Mini will still be fullback in game 3, Hayne will still be on the wing and Jennings will come back in for hoppa jnr.

In 2012 it will be 1. B Stewart 2. Hayne 3. Jennings 4. Gasnier 5. Uate

It will be a good battle for the No.1 jumper between Hayne, Stewart & Dugan that's for sure.

It's a tad early to call it though...

Too early to call 2012.

Mini surprised me, I didn't even factor him into the mix this late in his career, but I thought he had a good all round game, and will retain the jersey for Game 3 over Dugan.

Hayne did nothing wrong, and does add more than B Morris, and so should retain the wing jersey for the decider. I thought Hoppa Jr had a great game, and would have retained the spot over Jennings (and perhaps at Gasnier's expense?) were it not for injury.
