FoxSports is reporting that both Hayne and Lewis have been charged (no word on what with).

Slater, the dirty little grub, has avoided charge.

I thought charges weren't finalised until the finish of the round?

Both states can choose to have the charge heard early to help selections.

I guess because the judiciary meets a day earlier, the clubs need the time to prepare defense

Stupidity of the judiciary. A guy can go out and throw elbows all he wants, but as long as he doesn't connect (no matter how hard he tries to) he won't get charged?

I think he did connect with the back of haynes neck.
yeah i reckon he connected just as hard - only it was teh back of his head/neck

meh - what can you do? - the judiciary always come out with some rubbish like this .... their justification will be that billy was sin-binned hence it was already dealt with

Which is ridiculous in itself. How can a player get sin-binned for elbowing? It is either a send-off or put on report.

I can only assume he was binned for fighting - rather than the elbow.

Sounds like a Queensland conspiracy. Andrew Johns copped 2 weeks for doing what Thurston did, and Thurston gets off.

Hayne charged, and will prob miss Origin. Slater gets off as well. :x

Past players must sit at home and just laugh at what the game has become, how does hayne get a week for that?
now since Hayne will be getting a week how has Slater the dirt bag got away with elbows which everyone could tell was intentional, Its ridiculous this stupid judicary system they have in place, really quiet embarrasing.
They have destroyed a game that should have been the pinnacle of the season by this.
Well done judicary

Wasn't it Alex Chan who got binned for a head high (not binnable, has to be send off or nothing) and the ref claimed repeated offences... and it was Chan's first of the game

Alright kiddies, you can go out now and try and kick the opposition in the head as hard as you want, throw a couple of elbows and knees to the groin if you wish. You'll only get in trouble if you connect though.

Surely the intend behind Slaters elbow is worse than Haynes nudge. Had Slater connected what would the penalty be?

An intentional elbow to the head is a very serious charge. Ask Les Boyd.
If Slater had connected (with Haynes head), he would have been looking at 4-5 weeks minimum.

No, you'll only get in trouble if your name is not Slater
