Crazy You tube highlights...Some players are flat out having 1 minute of highlights in a decade long career, video went forever. Utterly ridiculous class above ..if only he played around better teams during his career we would be talking immortal class nominee if he can cut up in sub par teams and stand out in rep.

I can't have him as the best defensive fullback in the comp, best attacking for sure.. defensively?

Eels fans need something to hang on to so I will allow them to have their moment with this individual player but let's not get too carried away

I think he is probably the best defensive fullback or at the very least deserves to be in the discussion, recently he has more tried to strip the ball with defenders on the line which may give the impression he is being soft but it's had some great results (thaiday in origin). But he still has made some crazy tackles recently, one against sbw earlier this year springs to mind.

inglis and cam smith will be the only future immortals from this current bunch, imo. they stand out partly because they are playing in an era where there are other very good players in their positions [hayne , slater, and farah], but they are just a bit better. seriously, hayne has had 2 bumper seasons so many years apart. can he put 2 together, back to back?

The great man is deciding whether he should bless the Eels next year or go to another team that needs the hand of god placed upon them. Let's hope his state of limbo doesn't include tonight, something we're accustomed to when the sun shining from his arse is overshadowed by Inglis or Slater

Mitchell Pearce played more games of origin than Peter Sterling, in a more important position than Hayne's. Does that make him better?

I think we ought to take into account how well they played in Origin as well. Hayne more often than not being one of, if not the best player on the field, while Pearce was one of, if not the worst player on the field (If you support NSW, anyway).

That playing a lot of games means SFA in the end.

Hayne had an awesome half a year in 2009 and now an equally good half a year, five years later. Good for him but I'd take a consistent player like Slater or even Stewart over bursts of brilliance.

lol Hayne has never had a bad season nor a bad game,do you even watch Rugby League? you're one of those noobs who think if Hayne doesn't score 4 tries a game he's playing poorly,be gone child.

f**king hell I've been replying this whole time (on my lunch break I might add) without realising or bothering to check who I was talking too.

Well done.

He's better than Inglis. Faster, stronger leg drive and easily more skillful with the ball. Probably a better technical defender too

GI has a great power game with great upper body strength but thats just about all he has over Hayne imo

first 7 of those were losing series, definite immortal. only just this year clinched the number 1 jersey. very immortal-like. was nsw best player in lots of games as a winger. says something about a real dearth of talent among this nsw generation.
