Its amazing how quickly Hayne has turned some of his biggest fans against him.

He really has f**ked himself in the arse.
I overlooked plenty of his flaws due to his brilliance. This is some red flags I have personally experienced over the years.

For my son's 9th birthday from memory in (2011) I had his party at the ground. The whole run through the tunnel. Go onto the field and crowd singing happy birthday before the game. Great day and all my son wanted was to meet his hero, Jarryd Hayne. Well Hayne was injured and was at the ground and he didn't bother meeting my boy and his friends at the party even though all of the other injured players did. We ended up winning that game when Shackelton scored on the buzzer. I think it was against the Titans.

Though work I met a rival CEO in 2015 and we talked footy and he told me that it was a godsend that he had left us because according to him he was a cancer at any club. He compared him to his star fullback and basically said there was no comparison in terms of commitment and being a team player.

Plenty of other league identities, and people that have or do work with the Eels that I know personally and consider friends have said the same thing.

I however constantly overlooked it until he betrayed us and carried on like a goose last year.

Like I have said plenty of times I challenge anyone who admired him more than I but I would never take him back under any circumstances. To me he is now on the same shit list as Kieran Foran and that is saying something.

Agree with Avenger, I was always prepared to overlook his flaws coz he was so dam good. Merkin broke my heart when he signed with those f**king Titans. He made his bed and can f**king lie in it. Also I was at that Titans game!

I never overlooked Jarryd's flaws.

Sure he was phenomenal in late 2009, but why couldn't he ever bring that level again? Apologists suggested ot was the fsult of other players, coaches, Boards, but the buck stops with Jarryd.

He played for himself and a shared Dally M in 2014, but dogged it in the final 2 games when we capitulated from a virtually assured finals spot. Just like he derailed the previously dangerous Titans' finals campaign last season.

Never been too impressed with his Origin exploits over the years, his moments have been no better than dozens of players in that arena over the decades.

Flaws, flaws, flaws - and that's just onfield. Glad that we got rid!

He didn't dog it. He ran for 200 metres with two try assists and two tries in that final game. He was let down by his mates.

But I agree he was probably always a bad influence off the field, and rarely consistent on it.

Feel free to post articles and bold the parts you think are worthy of discussion.

Probably a better approach than appearing like a whiny biatch about "agendas"?

Yeah that's a long bow to draw.

Hayne has been the best nsw player of the past decade, bar none. That's coming from a Qlder and someone who doesn't have a lot of time for post-2014 Hayne

Come on, even the 2nd biggest Hayne hater in this world couldn't say that with a straight face

What's he supposed to have done lately apart from not playing great? The coach is the one who is reported to have gone to the board and given them a 'him or me' ultimatum. And the coach is the one who is reported to be offside with several senior players. He's also the one who's going to be punted. Hayne might be everything his critics say (probably is imo), but from the information we have this latest media storm is impossible to attribute to him.

but the media says he is the sole reason that 6 and soon to be 7 coaches have gone from teams he played in and they never lie

Ouch. I wonder if the author of that Australian article was aware of the allusion at the end of this paragraph, or whether it was entirely unintentional...u
His return to the NRL smelled like another disaster from the beginning [like] he was going back to a partner he had already decided he could live without.[/QUOTE ]
The assumed timimg of his discovery he was to become an unexpected Instagram daddy seemed to match the timing if his decision to run away from the NFL, and unsuccessfully set a course (via rugby sevens) for a non-NRL contract back home, which the Waratahs politely declined.

What a tale of woe, for someone capable of much much better effort.
