Maybe it was his manager lying to him and he was telling the truth. Maybe he actually WAS lying?
Maybe the Eels were telling the truth? Maybe they were lying?
Who would know?
Yet you came straight out and called him a liar.
My point was that if you don't know the facts which clearly you don't because you have already backtracked, why make such a claim in the first place?
Its avenger, he doesnt see grey - he sees white and black (or red - lol)

I reckon the truth is somewhere in the middle, but i believe we offered him a contract but wouldnt go up when him/his manager tried to get more and jarryd is calling that not making an offer - more like not offering what he wanted

I dont hate hayne, but i reckon there is too much trouble that surrounds him .... sure other titans may have problems with henry but none of it was evident prior to the plane landing

There just too much smoke following the plane

Hayne backtracked plenty of times when it was put to him that he actually was offered a contract. Couldn't be bothered going back but I think he finally admitted it was verbal but not a ctually written up yet.

Which is why Arthur was surprised that he had signed because he first saw it breaking in the morning news. Hayne didn't even have the decency to call Brad and let him know.

Ironically the amount we offered under the cap if we believe the latest news article was identical to what the Titans offered. Trip a Deal however topped it up with a third party sponsor which happens to be on their jersey (work that one out) for another $400k a year. This is why it is always reported that he is on $1.2m. $800k under the cap plus $400k for the third party.

If he leaves that third party deal will disappear which is why it will be a test for him now and an indicator on how much he really values money.

I agree with Strider that the truth is somewhere in the middle.

@Avenger the TPA is a marquee allowance which can be arranged by the club.

Also I believe the reports that Hayne was told to fly to the GC to see their set up and in true Jerry McGuire style was ambushed with a take it or leave it offer AND that his manager told him that there was no offer from Parra AND that there was pressure on Beavis to make his player take the deal as the NRL own the Tits and there was an investigation into Beavis which at this stage coincidently seems to have lost momentum.

Agree - but there's no test for Hayne because no other clubs are interested even at $800K any more, based on his poor onfield form and apparent attitude (compared to that exhibited for NFL).

No way BA would offer him anything now, after Hayne snubbed our offer/non-offer without even making a phone call to check. We don't need the ego or the drama at any price.

Hayne hunted down at the beach by a Courier Mail reporter. His ankle looked fine. He is full of shit and guilt.

Kaysa Pritchard and Beau Scott have been seen training with the Eels, which most would agree is closer to playing than hanging out at the beach. I don't know why those two weak as piss merkins just can't get out on the field and play for us if they can train.

You obviously haven't seen Karate Kid. Hayne like Daniel Laruso was seen on one leg trying to avoid the roaring waves. He is ready to play like Daniel was ready to fight.

That was what he said, yes.
It has also been claimed that an offer was made but wasn't passed onto him by his manager.
Who would know which version of events was true?
I know you wouldn't', and I reckon nobody else would either except those actually in the know with negotiations between clubs.
Unless you know all the facts, I'm not sure anyone should be calling anyone a liar.

I've been bemused at all the name calling and abuse in this thread for the same reasons as above.
Not one person in this thread has relied upon any information regarding Jarryd Hayne other than what they have read in a newspaper or heard on the radio or tv. Not one person here has been better than the media who which they frequently criticise for their own benefit when they feel the desire to do so
Furthermore, there has been no quotes from Hayne, nor his manager, or indeed the club.
Neil Henry said a few words today that were rather innocuous.
This has been a media generated click bait storm.

Are their issues at the Titans?
Yes, more than likely.
It is also more than likely that those issues run far deeper and involve far more than just one player that most on here have turned against.
I'm just glad that the now responsible management of our club have retained the huge mural of Hayne on the Leagues Clubs front wall, because as long as I live, regardless of what has happened in the past few years, he will remain one of the greatest players the Parramatta Eels has ever had, and that I have ever seen.
Geez Suity, why don't you just marry him?

Or.. that's right, you can't because Avy's immaginary friend says no... soz..

But for what it’s worth, the fullback’s deal is actually worth $1.1 million on the Titans’ salary cap next season.

The other $100,000 is made up of a TPA."

So much for the 800k / 400k split.

Talk about paying overs, and taking the money instead of keeping your promise.

I think you'll find it was $400k paid by Trip A Deal, so that was always under the cap anyway, not a TPA. The Titans obviously kick in $700k and some other TPA for $100k
