How did they ever work out you had two?
I started calling Phantom Bartman.
Picked it a mile away when he started sprouting the same old crap about the Wanderers.

You're right.
I suspect that same people that take the internet (forums) too seriously, also take real life too seriously as well.
So about three year's after Phantom's forum joining date thenI started calling Phantom Bartman.
Picked it a mile away when he started sprouting the same old crap about the Wanderers.
That sums up these forums to a tee!My take on it is that it might be a little bit of fun for a while, but fairly juvenile really and not something you could do for long without getting bored. I could be wrong, but.
My experience with the internet is that people would never say what they say on the internet in real life.
The anonymity of the internet tend to free up peoples inhibitions, which is both the beauty and the curse of the internet.
experience.
There's actually a theory that the "persona" a person shows on the internet is actually the "real" them and the public persona is the alternative. As there are no social hang-ups on the internet, no need to be self-conscious, as it's just words on a screen, and there are no real world consequences. So far it seems that the people who don't portray an alternative persona on the forum, are able to give explanations regarding the phenomenon; and those that do take advantage of the anonymity of the forum, don't offer an explanation. That's interesting in itself. My take on it is that it might be a little bit of fun for a while, but fairly juvenile really and not something you could do for long without getting bored. I could be wrong, but.
Or I might be right, too..it may just be the places you frequent or you pay attention to people that aren't worth paying attention to.
Well, if i was going to create another log-in name, I'd make it a bit more interesting. You, argue with myself or something. have one personality totally different to the other. you know the sort of thing. That sums up these forums to a tee!

I would have thought that too, but the people who try and hide behind different personas and get found out aren't that clever in the first place. They just think they are.
Yeah... but why bother really?Well, if i was going to create another log-in name, I'd make it a bit more interesting. You, argue with myself or something. have one personality totally different to the other. you know the sort of thing.
That's assuming that there's an element of "trying to hide" invovled... and that there is anything to "find out". Some people just think there was, and aren't that clever in the first place.I would have thought that too, but the people who try and hide behind different personas and get found out aren't that clever in the first place. Sorry, are you talking to me?You f**ken stupid merkin. Obviously was supposed to be a reply to Gary.
Nah, that was for me. I'll call you tomorrow when I stub my toe.Sorry, are you talking to me?
That's pretty much what I'm talking about. The fact that we aren't face to face allows a bypass to social anxiety and allows people to truly express themselves, when they wouldn't in a room with other people.I'm exactly the same here as I am in real life.
Only difference is I suffer intensely from social phobia IRL, so I find it easier to express myself here.
I'm the same person, though, I like to think.
