Why do people feel the need to make such bold statements off the back of 5 f**king games? If he can be arsed sticking around next year, I am fairly confident he will improve.
So, how long does it take for a professional athlete the likes of Hayne? 10 weeks? a year?

5 weeks is plenty IMO, someone as capable as he is (and I believe he is a remarkable athlete, I've always said that) he should be having no problems by now, remember, he isn't new to this. It's not like when he joined the NFL, and needed time to learn the nuances of the game, he's old hat at rugby league, no excuses I'm afraid.

I'm really glad we didn't sign him.

So if Corey Norman has a 5 game stretch next year where he is below par would you want to f**k him off?

I would say that we should wait until at least half way through next year before we can determine whether Hayne has been good for the Titans or not.

Even seasoned rugby league players who haven't had a big break can have a poor run of form over a 5 week period. Jarryd certainly did during his time with us.

Do you pay someone 1.2m to "stay out of the way"?

Yeah if you want him to chime in from fullback when he sees something. I think Hayne playing as a 6 has been overplaying his hand and disrupting the offence. Hayne is an amazing strike player who is brutal in broken play, that's how I reckon they should use him and I think Sterlo said much the same after the game last night.

Id rather throw 800k at moylan to play halves or go hard for moses.
Both Younger and Matt would adapt easier.Defense an running game not as good but attitude ball playing skills kicking games and footy smarts much superior and just look natural in halves.
Haynes best when floats about like inglis. Not see him as the type of guy to run a game thou.
When ricky had hayne hitting holes on end of a backline move he was so destructive, defense would hold off as he could bust thru or throw a cut out ball.
In the halves he will be not on the end of the set plays nor will he pop up unexpected following a forward.
His last man defense and under high ball was one of the best ive seen in game. He chopped tomollolo down the other week with ease. Not sure why you eliminate his strengths. Safe as bank at back.

Bevan is going to do a great job in attack, i doubt he will be in the top 10 fullbacks in defense thou. Just to small.
As an all rounder boyd is a great fullback for these reasons.

I see big things from Moses. I reckon he may be the next superstar of the game. Funny enough him and moylan have played simmilar amount of first grade. Matt was only starting in nrl in 2014 and missed half of last season.
For those including me dishing on ronnie palmer i heard a story gould was telling matt to look at other options as to injury prone at younger age and fragile. And Ronnie said he would turn him into an nrl player, not sure how true this is?
Of the two thou id go for Moses. Could be the next Thurston

He dropped a kick off ala 49'ers fumble
Poor Jarryd, a costly game-turning error. He seems more nervous in rugby league than he was two years ago.

His performance is poorer, even though he's being paid a lot more money.

I hope he trains hard in the off season and improved next season... otherwise Hayne won't even make the Origin side, let alone become captain.

Hayne deserves time to prove himself, given.

However the unconditional love that some have for him is nauseating.
Isn't it just.

Denying Hayne's lost his mojo in the face of the evidence is a bit like maintaining the earth is still flat after the globe had been circumnavigated. Sometimes it takes people a while to admit something that goes against their previously held beliefs.

His desperation for cash with his "I've been unemployed for 2 months" rhetoric and the Tits desperation to get his 2017/18 deal over the line ultimately jeopardized how deep their 2016 finals run went. I could see it on Neil Henry's face.
They were looking a better final's prospect before Hayne's disruptive arrival. Even without Hayne they would have struggled to win a final with Taylor off the field. But for a $1.2mil investment, you'd want a bit more in return that what Hayne has provided to Henry so far.

I was at the game last night, and I know a few of you have said he looks unhappy, well I'll say he looks pretty much disinterested in anything going on. He trudges 30-40m behind the defensive line in D, no talk or direction for the defensive line. When the Titans scored to get the game back in reach, he turned around and started walking back without even a smile on his face, let alone heading over to celebrate or pump up his team, couldn't be bothered to walk the 20m. Even when he kicked for the Hoffman try, he stuck his arms out like he was the king, then walked off again.

Thanks for the live report Eels Fan. Though some apologists will probably come up with a reason to excuse Hayne's lack of team spirit...

With finals survival on the line you'd simply expect more teamwork and spirit from someone on even one third the money that Hayne earns. He's a flop.

Social Media Reacts To Jarryd Hayne's Dropped Ball

jarryd_hayne_drop_628.jpg

It was a lacklustre start to the second half for the Titans, with superstar Jarryd Hayne making an absolute mess of the ball from the kick-off.

"He just took his eye off the ball in the final seconds to work out who he was going to pass it to," Triple M's Girds said of the stuff up, which resulted in an immediate Broncos try.

At least Hayne achieved his latest "dream" of playing finals football again... if only for one losing game.

And he doesn't have to be worried about being unemployed and doing nothing for 2 months - he'll be paid (very well) to do nothing for the rest of September, October, and November!

Then training starts and the "pressure" will be back on Hayne again.

I'd pick the merkin in the Prime Minister's XIII and make him go to PNG to prove he;s serious about returning to Origin level rep footy. If he finds an excuse to say no or not get fit for he trip, I'd tell him to kiss the Blues goodbye.

Yeah, I noticed that, too.

It's strange body language...

I don't recall Hayne ever dropping a sitter of a kick like that when playing for us. That mistake was seriously out of character.
He's returned a worse player than when he left us, of that there can be no doubt.
Same fumble cost him his NFL career didn't it ?
Fumbles... he's a repeat offender.
Yeah, I noticed that, too.

Maybe Hayne was surprised that his new teammates didn't react favourably to him getting his own personal physio team in as part of his mega bucks contract?
