Heartless, Gutless, Pathetic

Say what you like about the referees. Say what you like about the video. We lost that game for one reason tonight.

We are a side with no passion and no commitment. We had that game on toast, and we let them back in.

Stu Flanagan...waste of money. Marc Herbert...put up or shut up. Brett Kelly...Where do I start on Brett Kelly? It's all been said before so what does it matter?

A complete lack of heart, a bunch of truly inept players and the inability to adapt when the bounce of the ball went against them.

I'm sick of this team doing this. It's been 10 years since we had a side who didn't fall over at the slightest sign of adversity.

That's a bit rough on your team mate.

From the outside looking in, I think it's fair to say your team was dudded big time tonight by the officials.
And Carney should have been given benefit of the doubt possibly on 2 occasions.
There is no way anyone was going to get anywhere near him from the scrum, and the 2nd one when you were up 16-4 was a try....at least beefit of the doubt at worst.

The sin bin was a joke.
Parra's crowd started boo-ing in the last 20 minutes so the ref's started penalising you guys.

I said this in the NRL forum: Good times rise above it.

We lost that game for one reason only - we switched off in the final half hour. We always do.

Possibly, but the lack of possession you were getting (Parra were getting assistance from the ref's) just wore you out. Keep in mind you also played a man down for 10 minutes in the first half.

Parra were getting away with things you guys were being penalised for.

overreacting much? last week i would use those words, this week was much better. We were very unlucky but it wasn't a bad performance.

I agree that flanagan is a waste of money, he is withers without the punishing defence and solid dummy half running. He is just crap.

Kelly did nothing the whole game and should go straight back to souths logan where he can carve up, but a first grade player he aint.

Flanno and Kelly should be back in QLD next week.
I thought the Her Ok and what i saw of McCrone and Smith today they arent any better , they were average

The refs changed the course of the game , disallowed try , two penalty's to parra staright after that.
Milne been binned , Parra scoring in that time.
In fact Parra's try were of the back of penalty's , we werent good today , some shining lights there but we were better than parra and if it wasnt for the ref we would of kicked on and won.

Not doing enough with the 59% possession killed us again just like last week. Of course the dodgy refs didn't help but we still look disjointed in attack and the 5th play options weren't great.

Two big plays against you in the first half were the Inu "advantage" call....that was just deadset horrible and wrong.
Luke Burt knocking on in front of his posts.

Both of these would have seen Canberra in excellent field position with a full set of 6.

They were booing at how bad Parra were, and the title of this thread could easily be said for Parra though Carneys last no try was a no try, I think this thread is a little harsh in regards to the Raiders.

No doubt we should of won that match quite comfortably.
I dont blame furner at all.
Momentum changed when hayne took that intercept.
carneys try should of been benefit of the doubt.
Waddell straight into the starting side next week for myn,he looked sharper and is 100% better in defence than flanagan, stu flanagan can go to souths logan as can kelly.

Next week hopefully somewhere in the 17 is a tilse and logan.
Although i have to say i was pleased with some of the defence from plum and turner in the centre of the park on some much bigger men.
but we lack the size and go forward of logan and tilse.

You must be a Raiders man, why all the sucking up?:)

No mate, I'm a Dragons fan through and through, but I hate seeing sides get ripped off through ref's decisions and I thought that happened to the better team tonight.

No sucking up here, I tipped Parra to win in my tipping comps, I just feel Canberra were harshly treated tonight and I feel sorry for their supporters.

Timbo, there is no way that performance was heartless, gutless or pathetic.

There were a few key players out there (Flanagan, Milne and Kelly) who didn't do the job we needed of them.

ALL of the Parramatta tries were on the back of some pretty ordinary refereeing decisions - starting with the Milne sin bin. We were shafted with the Carney try and were fortunate to be good enough to get the Picker try after a sh*thouse no advantage call after Campo's kick.

We played our guts out in that game. Some of the execution was poor, but we're getting there.

Hi All.

That's three games and three losses. We led two of those three games by eight and twelve points and were only four down at half-time in the other.

Problem is, we have lost to three teams that won't do much this year (although, as I type this, the Tigers may prove me wrong).

I had the Tigers, Eels and Panthers as my bottom three teams this year (in no particular order) and we have already lost to two of them, so at the present moment it doesn't look good for us.

We really need the two points next week against the Cowboys, or it could be a long season and a wooden spoon that so many "experts" have wanted us to have for many many seasons.

All the best,

Master Raider®©

I think you captured what I meant when I made this post Master Raider.

The fact is we've played teams who will not tilt at the title this year, and we've led comfortably twice.

We're playing with neither a soul or a spine at the moment and it's showing.

As an aside, three weeks ago I was in Canberra for the Rugby Union. I'm a Waratahs fan and they were playing the ACT, I went with a mate from Canberra and his folks. We got to the stadium and they said 'so Tim, this is what a REAL stadium looks like' (a comment which threw me, as the Waratahs play out of the SFS - but thats another story entirely), and I replied 'oh, I know it well - I'm a Raiders fan'.

They paused, looked at each other, looked at me, and his dad said 'you must be the last one of those left, surely?'

Performances like the last three are why people say that.

Fair dinkum Raiders you've got a great team. Didn't watch the game tonight, but if the ABC commentators are anything to go by you were robbed! Not a penalty in the second half apparently.
As for Marc Herbert The last couple of games he played I barely noticed him. I thought he played ok towards the end of last year but I'd say he'd be on borrowed time atm.
Anyway I think you just have to suck it up at the moment because it will get better. Would you swap this

6. Campese
7. Herbert

for that?

6. Hayne
7. Finch

I think not.
