Henjack sacked. Bennett back home in 2012?

So, a bit of a conspiracy theory:

Bruno Cullen is gone and now the Broncos want Bennett back. Bennett tells them that he'll come back in 2012, but they can only sack Henjack while he is in the UK.

So, Bennett leaves on Saturday, gets to the UK on Sunday. On Monday, Henjack is sacked. Next week when Bennett is back in the country, will he announce that he is going home next year and will be coaching the Broncos again? Not long after, Boyd announces that he also wants to go home to Brisbane again (no surprises there)...

Bennett's bigger than Henjak, he wouldn't need to be out of the country. He'd tell Henjak himself then give him a noogie

This is out of left field and seems to have nothing to do with Bennett. Sure they may see him as a future option but he wasn't the cause of the dismissal. To get rid of Henjak so close to the start of the season is crazy.

He obviously did something that was beyond repair and they had no other choice but to get rid of him. All this review stuff White was on about is just a story for them to tell. It gave nothing other than they have a review process. Well guess what so do most of us.

The thing with reviews is that they have a date they need to be done by. Say Henjak's would logically be between the end of season 2010 and pre-season for 2011. Now for him to still be around means the Broncos were satisfied with his performance considering all factors. An unsatisfactory one wouldn't be actioned with so little warning after 4 months and just before season kick-off.

If he was unfairly dismissed I would have thought he would have been seen whinging on some channel.

What amused me is when they said that at a future date they would love him to take on some role at the Broncos. Obviously they feel sorry for him because he made a meal of things. He ain't going back. Just trying to save whats left of his career and reputation.

Ease up on the Bennett stuff. If I had to bet, he will take a one year option with us and play the field for 2013.

My personal opinion....

1. Most likely the expansion team will be in QLD as AFL has upped the ante in the south with 2 teams both in direct competition with the league franchises.
2. If Bennett signs for one year then that's it for the Dragons and Bennett
3. He will go back to Qld.
4. If he does take an expansion team then Boyd will be the franchise player and set the kid up for life.

The upside (if you can call it that) is there is no more speculation and we can get on with finding replacements.

Lets not rush to conclusions. The Bronco's provided Bennett with his biggest lowlight in his career showing him the door. Why would he go back? If so they will surely set him up for the rest of his career or throw something tempting for him to go back.

Rather him back at the Bronco's than any other club in the NRL. Prefer he stays with the Dragins but surely it would be hard on the man to stay with is family in QLD?

Spot on. I think that will happen as well.

ehh its all press talk about WB, he tells em sh*te and creates interest which is exactly what the press want...
Doust if you read these boards, (i read this somewhere) drive Bennett round the back of the Tahj open the safe and give him what he wants on a 4 year deal, i cant see why we wouldnt match any offer for WB, absolutely crazy if he doesnt..
am soo grateful he got Saints a premiership, where the last 10 coaches could only go close, hes a bloody gem and paying overs for him is a dam must..

very abnormal time to sack Henjak - blaming him for a sh*t year i spose and nothing has improved this year.

Not even bennet could turn around souths...aside from a couple guns there squad is one of the weaker in the NRL. I doubt bennett will want to wallow in a battle for 8th position with chris sandow as his chief playmaker.

Bennett returning to QLD has always been the best bet...but I dont mind really...Saints have a great recent record against bennett coached broncos...the club has a new wind in its sails. Bennett perhaps leaving will take some out but not enough to derail all the good that has blossomed at the club.

im with you zoggy, what he gave us on october 3 last year was the best day of my life & it will take something pretty big to beat it,i would love to see him at saints til the day he retires, but if he chooses to move on i wish him all the best and who knows what can happen again this year :D,regardless of what happens he has already given all us saints supporters something special, and im pretty sure if another coach did come in alot of his coaching methods would still be entrenched at the club, just enjoy supporting the saints while he is here.

this whole saga..

it's kind of like being back at school..

there was a really hot girl there that everyone wanted... but she had a boyfriend..

they broke up, and she hooked up with you..

it was great, and you got everything you wanted..

but now her old boyfriend is single again... will she go back to him?

So marto the back page on fox sports seems to think Bennett is a certainty to be back at broncos.
Even said he knows for a fact that he is already recruiting players in Sydney.
All the parts seems to fit unfortunately.

Except that fact I could have sworn I heard Bennett say after the grand final that he can't see himself returning to the broncos?? Anyone else hear this?

Marto is a Queenslander. Makes sense he'd say that. Marto is also a Rah Rah which means he'd have no fuggin idea.

As for recruiting players - Boyd stands out like dogs balls.
