Henry Paul on Farrell

I am suprrised that the English are making such a big deal over this. Its almost as if they see Farrell as the saviour of the Eng team. I think he is past it and is doing it for the $$'s (Which if they offer it fair enough) but I dont see him making a huge impact in the game.

Every player who switches comps goes on about how much tougher their new competition is. They're hardly going to come out and say "well to be honest these union guys are a bunch of soft pansies that the average league side would eat for breakfast, but hey, the money's great!" are they?

Thats what I thought . When the likes of Ridge and Inga switch codes they use to say that league was more demanding and so on.
Then when they came back the tune started it to change to union is more demanding and they are more involove on the field and so on .
But i guess you got to please your new boss when you are playing their sport .

Maybe so, but if you listen to the radio clip Paul said some very specific things. The main one I remember was that there were a lot of one-sided games in ESL, whereas (he says) in the ZP you can't take any game for granted, any team is capable of beating you, or something like that.

Then I suggest this may be evidence to the contrary.

No fear for code-breaker Farrell

All-time great set for new dawn

New Saracens recruit Andy Farrell is confident his switch from rugby league to union will be a success

+ "Henry Paul's audio" piece.

I would concur this 83-10 thrashing occured before henry opened his mouth.

I've never seen the Zurich competition, so I cant comment, but watching some of the ESL teams, I swear a number of our Bartercard Cup teams could beat them. Leigh & Widnes are especially awful. I love watching the likes of St Helens, Leeds, Bradford, Wigan etc. London seem to be playing an attractive style of football, too. But the quality of the lesser teams leaves a lot to be desired & the gap between top & bottom seems to be huge.

The strength of your competition is always in quality not numbers I believe.
NRL has the same problem.
S12's have the same problem...and they are expanding
Too many ordinary sides.
Someone has to lose I suppose and I have supported clubs for years that don't win alot but they are my club....you don't always have to win to enjoy the game.

Mate ! One bad game doesn't prove anything . Should we judge the league tri series on that final game ?

No

Leigh just beat London, and Wakefield just beat the previously-thought-unbeatable Leeds. Hardly predictable
