Well neutral referees is a big positive, let's hope this isn't just a token gesture for the group games and the policy is continued in the finals.

Negative is our two best non Aus/Eng refs are Alibert & Perenara! Yes he's an NRL ref but he admitted he mucked up the Briscoe try in 2011 at Wembley, so maybe he will square things up on Saturday haha.

Whether he is up to international standard is questionable, but at least he is neutral..

I dont think Peranara could honestly be classed as a neutral referee. Yes he is from a non involved country, but he is an NRL ref, and used to reffing according to NRL standards.

Actually..... wasnt there some decision a while ago that Neutral refs were no longer considered essential for international games? The best ref should be selected regardless of where he lives? Or am I imagining that..
