I was reading the Sunday Mail (Courier Mail) up here in Brissie last weekend and there's an article where Warren McDonnell has said that the Tigers are putting forward a bid for Karmichael Hunt.

Hunt is coming off his contract, and McDonnell said he would attract up to 300 to 400k a season, and at present, the Broncos aren't paying him anywhere near that amount.

I've been unable to find the article online, so I'll scan it and submit it on here when I get back from Holiday.

Massive buy if it goes through!

Similar article in the sydney sunday papers,McDonnell said he had to shed some players to do this,which is quite possible with a lot of contract in 2009.
I don't think he would leave Brisbane,but maybe we re-sign Benji who is off contract next year to bring his mate down.

If we go all out and make a big thing about he's the player we want, make him feel wanted, who knows?

Benji and Hunt and Josh Lewis are all pretty good mates. The Broncos would be keen to have Hunt as their lynchpin who they build their team around for the next 10 years, so they'll be reluctant to let him go.

However, if we have the coin, he'd be handy to have, even if its 1 mill to 1.2 mill for 3 years all up.

Yes sorry,2010 for Hunt,Benji is good mates and we have quite a few off contract in 2009.

Would be the buy of the century as he still has his best years ahead of him, but it`s 1,000,000-1 of happening. He`ll stay at the Broncos for anything up to $100,000 per season less than what he could earn at a Sydney based club and if he really wanted more money he`ll just go o/s.

true, however we have lost hodgson, ohara, teo, head, harlen, youngquest and flanagan from out top 25.

Also a thing in the paper about the QLD reds making a big play for k-Hunt. So he will not be short of offers. Would imagine the way the reds go they would be offering gasnier type money

Getting back to our roster for 2009. I dont think it needs much, maybe another front rower. A bit of luck in the injury dept and a new minister for defence we will go okay in 2009
