HIA - Storm find another way to rort the system

Pap wasn’t able to get to his feet for 30 odd seconds after clearly being knocked unconscious. In boxing he’d have been ruled out for a month. And that sport is happy to just allow blokes to turn their brains to mush.

Now personally I’m of the opinion that if Pap or any player wanted to sign some waiver each week before taking the field that they want to play on with concussion, I say let em go for it. It under the current rules it was idiotic that he somehow passed his HIA.

that’s not the storm rorting it though. That’s just a flaw in the HIA system that a bloke who was knocked out is able to pass it.

the Munster one was the rort. Took him from the field with no other goal than to get Radley binned. He was on the sideline with his card on tackle 1 following the kick for touch

This is also a problem with the 18th man rule
The ref felt obligated to sin bin because he probably thought Munster was done for the day

turns out he was probably milking it? And so the roosters suffer because of a bad rule

Just. Extend. The. Bench.

Radlleys was a classic clothes line, it should always be a yellow if open handed, red if closed fisted. Regardless of outcome for the player fouled.

Radley shouldn't have hit him in the face and there wouldn't have been the opportunity. No sympathy!
Besides, I thought Radley was marched before Munster left the field. Either way, it was worth a binning!

No one is questioning the foul. If Munster was genuinely concussed, then the sin bin was deserved. However, Melbourne have questions to answer if he was immediately allowed to return to the field, which appears to be the case - despite said concussion. Or did he exploit the HIA? Tedesco copped a high shot that was only a penalty and justifiably so. But if he had feigned concussion, would the ref have dealt with it differently? Melbourne need to explain themselves.

If the NRL are going to be consistent their will be fines coming for Melbourne, however consistency has never been a strong point for the NRL.

Complaing that a team may have taken advantage of foul play.

The entitlement is strong in Roosters fans.

well that is on the ref as the outcome to the player should not determine the nature of the foul! Munster might have been counting his teeth, he had to go to sideline as that is the new rule, he didn’t need a hia as he wasn’t concussed, that doesn’t mean he didn’t feel injured or stunned by getting smacked In The face by one of the games hardest hitters! The smith tackle I’ll have to look at again, at the time it looked very innocuous.

haha, didn’t take long for the haters to find something to replace the melbourne wrestle to hate them on!
Panthers are smug, Storm cheat, roosters spend over the cap, jealousy is an ugly thing.

I won’t argue with any of that. You could very well be right. I’m just saying it’s worth investigating. I don’t think it’s a ‘nothing to see here’ situation.

Problem with the top clubs fans is that their players can do no wrong, and it's everyone else's fault.

Fans of team's down the bottom know their players are shit blokes.

and how would you do that?
Nrl: Munster did you lie down or was you concussed?
Munster: no I was just laid there checking my jaw wasn’t broken, no concussion at all
Nrl: ok thanks

How's this for a solution?

Don't commit foul play.

Sure but accidents happen. There was no attempt to commit foul play, it was clumsy. I’m merely asking would the ref have ruled differently if Munster got straight back up like Tedesco did. It’s a fair question. I’m not disputing the result, we got done by a better side.

I dunno, independent doctors make assessments? If you’re happy for the game to become like soccer one day, then fine.

It was careless and reckless for mine.

Munster's leg gave way underneath him. It was a textbook sin bin offence for mine.

I can barely recall the Teddy one being anywhere near as bad.

The insinuation that he dove is childish dickheadry.

So no intent to commit a foul, then. Thanks
The fact that he came straight back on has raised legitimate questions.

How is it not a dive?

Watching replays, the way Munster flopped to the ground was exactly as a player would fall if knocked out, before hitting the ground. Referee absolutely took this into consideration to sinbin Radley. Then, within minutes Munster is bouncing around on the sideline to return to the field. That is diving 101.
