Highlights of the year

This is my reply to a thread in the NRL section.
I thought it would go well here too.

Most Gutsy Win: A bad thing to say about your own team, but I don't think the Knights played any really gutsy football this year.

Best Win: Broncs at the opening of their new home ground. That win was before SOO, so Broncs were close to full strength and it was the first starting game for what will be a legendary combination - Johns/Kidley.

Most Enjoyable Win: Win over the Warriors without Johns in the side. The Warriors looked awesome for the opening half and we were lucky to keep in the game, but the Knights showed they can play without Johns and put them away in the second half.

Unexpected Win: Warriors without Johns

Your Team's Try of the Year: Buderus to Kidley who put on a Gidley no look flick to Matt Gidley, who then put on a Gidley no look flick to Craig Hall to score in the corner. They could have scored that try with their eyes shut, and just about did.

Most Disappointing Loss: 3 or 4 loses against ordinary teams around the rep season. The Knights would have finished top 4 if not for a punishing rep season (the suspension of Kennedy was adding insult to injury).

Most Annoying Loss: Loss to Canberra in Canberra. The boys ran out to minus 6 degrees temp and were in shock for long enough for Canberra to pinch the game. The next 70 minutes was a good contest, but the game was lost in the first 10.

Player of the year: Andrew Johns got 10 MOTM awards this year, but over the whole season it has to be either Buderus or Abraham, who were both good every game.

For the Premier League side;

Most Gutsy Win: The win against Canberra in Canberra. Apparently the conditions were far worse than the conditions in the main game and the boys fought through the sleet and the howling winds to record a 4-0 win against the Canberra attacking machine that ended the season scoring over 800 points and had scored 25 tries in the two weeks before playing the Knights. Inspirational Captain Blake Mueller made a club record 65 tackles in the game. That is a super human effort in those conditions.

Best Win: The Canberra win, but the away win over Parra would be just behind it (away wins over the sides who finished first and second).

Most Enjoyable Win: The Parra win. They had cleaned us up just two weeks before, so the turnaround was great.

Unexpected Win: Parra win.

Your Team's Try of the Year: It has to be a Michael Ennis try. The one I enjoyed most was one against Norths where he noticed Norths had the slowest winger on earth. He ran wide and went into a gap between the winger and centre to run 65 metres to score under the posts. The best part about it was he was pulling away from the winger all the way. He has to be drummed out of the hookers union after that effort.

Most Disappointing Loss: Newtown in the last round. It meant Newtown finished above us on the table.

Most Annoying Loss: Any of the six games we were in front after halftime but lost by 4 points or less.

Player of the year: Ennis

The most gutsiest win was over St George.. :D
You are right, but they didn't show enough guts this season for me to give them a wrap for guts.

The Broncos win was great, but the most pleasing for me was the one over the Warriors without Johns, I was fearing the worst for that game, but the boys did it in style in the end, and got that monkey off their backs.

The high lite for the year for me was either the round one game when Raiders played Cowboys or when the Bulldogs played West tiges down in Campbelltown.

Why?

I dont know.

The Raiders in round 1 against the Cowboys looked so fresh an vibrant.
The had a ring about them.

And the most awsome display this year was the first half Canterbury V.s West Tiges.

The Bulldogs absolutely creamed them and didn`t make one mistake in the 1st half.

That display that night in the 1st half scared me.

They were awsome.

But fell away in the 2nd half an didnt go on with it which is the reason why they are not traveling to well for most part of this year which is why they wont win the big one this year.

Their 2nd half preformances are dreadful an they shut up shop for some reason.

Most Gutsy win: against Canterbury in round 5 or 6, when we won 12-6
Best win: Vs Dragons, with kick from the sideline
MOst Enjoyable win: DRagons x2, broncos, dogs, and cowboys
UNexpected win: warriors sans johns

MOst dissapointing loss: V parra round 2 or 3 and roosters at ea, sharks at ea, and penrith during SOO
MOst annoying loss: v roosters in finals, and dogs in round 20 or so
