The HillGirls humble website is looking to improve and expand, and as we're not the normal, run of the mill, stats/results/news type of site, we'd really like your involvment.
We've long been asking for your stories about the players, especially the stupid stuff, but now here's a chance to really get in on the action:

we are inerested in you! (yes you! ;-) ) use your forum name if you don't want your real one up (no last names)

Name? NickName?
When did you become an Eels fan? (what age?)
Why did you become an Eels fan?
Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why?
What is your most prized possesion?
What is your greatest memory?

Please, email it to thehillgirls@hotmail.com or post it here (if the mods have no objection) and we'd love to post it up along side players answers to the same questions (after we see them and ask them...)
We'd love your input, and if you take part, keep an eye on our everchanging page for your answers as well as the very latest HillGirlsvsParraBoys Profiles and pictures of your players

NB: Jake the Snake and HH, i saved yours before the "blackout" so no need to redo it. Thanks!!

When did you become an Eels fan? Been a closet fan since I knew what footy was and became a loud, proud, passionate fan in 1998.

Why did you become an Eels fan? My heart was as an eels fan, I can't describe it but i love the eels so much.

Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? Nathan Cayless currently, just the local parra boy and all round good guy with a funny mum & of all time it's hard to go past the legendry Brett Kenny.

What is your most prized possesion?Apart from Loved ones... Probably a signed picture of Matt Leblanc from Friends (plays "Joey") He and Lacey Chabert (then from Party of 5) did a promo in Westfields Parramatta and I got him to sign a picture.

What is your greatest memory?

Non Football? It's hard to pin point one. Best Football Memory would be qualifying for the grand final beating the Broncos in 2001.

This will probably have different answers to before...?!

Name/Nickname: Bart/Bartman

When did you become an Eels fan? Taken to first Eels game age 5 (1978, Henson Park v Newtown)

Why did you become an Eels fan? Born, bred and raised in Parramatta district. Family history of Eels support.

Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? All time - Ray Price. Guts, courage, commitment, perpetual motion. Current - Jamie Lyon. All the skills, and still improving with age.

What is your most prized possesion? My memories of how an Eels premiership win lifts the spirit and pride of an entire community.

What is your greatest memory? So many!! Fond memories of the Bookends (Leadbeater and Bugden) laying the smack down on the Canterbury forwards in the 86 semi-final, getting the edge on them for the grand final win that was to follow two weeks later.

When did you become an Eels fan? (what age?) Between three and four

Why did you become an Eels fan? My best mate at pre-school had an Eels jumper that was really cool and I started to follow them because of that.

Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? Always been a big fan of Mark Laurie and Paul Taylor. They were Parra through and through and gave everything they had whenever they took the field. They weren't high profile but they did the job they had to.

Jamie Lyon is just pure class and you anticipate something exciting is going to happen when he has the ball in his hands. Ashley Graham is going to grow into a similar player and I cannot wait.

What is your most prized possesion? As of Sunday my Brett Kenny autographed Legends jersey is pretty special. Throw in memorabilia signed by Pricey and Sterlo along with the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Eels teams. Somewhere hidden away at my mums house are four coasters with the signatures of the 1982 Eels after they won the GF.

What is your greatest memory?
Sitting in the Beer Lounge at the Railway Hotel in Cowra in early 1983. "The Bear" had recently purchased the pub and my mum used to do the counter lunches and clean the upstairs rooms. One weekend the Eels came to town to see Bob - I still remember not being able to speak until Big Jack came over ruffled my hair and told the boys to sign a few coasters for me. I can't remember what I said but it definitely wasn't much more than thanks!

When did you become an Eels fan? (what age?) From birth, it is genetic in my family, my Grandfather played for them in the lower divisions, and even though they are from Newtown, Parramatta is our teams club

Why did you become an Eels fan? Basically answered before but also because the club is representing the good people of the area and isn't scummy like Wests.

Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? Currently Nathan Hindmarsh and Luke Burt are up there, but the best ever was P. Sterling

What is your most prized possesion? My little Parramatta beanie with the pom pom on top, and my wife bought a Eels jersey for the son we haven't got yet so that is pretty special too

What is your greatest memory?
I have so many. But I was too young to remember the last premiership. Many days of sitting in the Eastern Terrace watching and being so nervous. Watching with my dad and shaking from the excitment of being in the crowd when we scored a try. I want to take my children there too to give them the same excitment.

As a side note I want to say that even though Parramatta weren't great in the early nineties I still went and took positives out of the event and I feel that a true fan will always see the positive side of their team.

When did you become an Eels fan? (what age?) Bout 4-5 yr old
Why did you become an Eels fan? I was living in the Hills area, and this young player for the local team beared the same first name as i did. So he became my favourite player, and his team (The eels), my team.
Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? Brett Kenny (see above). And as i learnt to appreciate the game, i recognised he was indeed the complete player. A tackling machine, with killer step, blue and gold blood and vision beyond his peers. Favourite current player is the skipper, Captain Cayless. He has passion, determination, toughness and aggression that he displays purely for his team and his team mates. His two one-on-one tackles on Lockyer in our rnd 25 clash with the Broncs were testiment to that.
What is your most prized possesion? I have a range of jerseys and framed photos as well as some other signed articles such as caps and training singlets.
What is your greatest memory?
Smashing a blue and gold iced cupcake into the face (custrad pie style) of my best mate, a bulldogs fan after the 86 grandfinal. More recently being their as Killer scored that miraculous try in the 01 QF and then the crowd going off in the last 5 minutes of the 01 prelim final against the Broncs.

Why did you become an Eels fan?

at the time no one in my family follwed the footy as all the kids at school did, so i had to decide what team to suport my self. at the time my favourite colors were Red and Blue (thank God Newcastle was not around back then or id probably be a Newcastle supporter) my next favourite colours were Blue and Yellow plus i was born at Westmed hospital, and i liked the Eel.

Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why?

Jason taylor just the way he resurected his career and our club in 2001 also Hodgo, Hindmarsh and now Witt.
What is your most prized possesion?

What is your greatest memory?

Birth of my two kids.

Why did you become an Eels fan? When the Eels had all there success in the early 80's it was too good for a local little fella like myself not to get drawn into the hype and excitement of it all.
Who is your favourite player/all time favourite player? Why? Current favorite player is tough, but probably Hindmarsh as he always gives 110% which you just have to admire. Of all time Peter Sterling. It really was memorable and an honour to have watched him play.
What is your most prized possesion? My family and friends
What is your greatest memory? League memories it probably is beating the Broncs to make the grand final in 2001 and the celebrations in 2001 after our last home game for winning the minor premiership.
