Offloading and wild passes in our own terriroty may have worked against a Broncos side who were very poor defensively, but play loose like that against Melbourne and Manly and they'll capatalize.

Did they really throw many wild passes in their own territory?
How bad defensively were the Broncos? I thought that they just couldn't match us because we tired the forwards out. They were in that game until just before halftime. I we were playing one out for 5 and kick, they would have been in front at the half and probably would have squeezed home against us.

The way to beat Manly is to get a runner from wide to head back towards the posts on the angle. Tahu and Ben Smith should be running that angle all day if we get to play them. When they slide the angled runner can do two things:
1) hold up the inside sliding defenders and create room on the outside; or
2) force the outside defenders to change direction and create a hole to run through.

Melbourne are beaten by long kicks and big chases. Pin them into the corners and pressure the outside backs when they go wide. They are susceptible to 2nd man play but by that I mean offloads and not rehersed plays.

North Queensland are weak if you attack the fringes of the ruck especially with passes before the line or run arounds. Target the halves on the fringes.

And NZ are the same as the Broncos. Offloads and passing before the line will stop the forwards from being able to dominate. Don't go wide to early but rather turn the forwards around with switches of the point of attack. Bodies in motion is very effective.

Hindy can't win a couple of weeks ago he was talking up our backs & everyone complained now he asks them to settle down & everyone complains.

i think that's the lesson in all this - there is absolutely nothing to gain by talking yourself up, or putting your teammates down!

Why not say nothing? LOL

I agree with Nat's dad.

Our key is to our attack and in making metres is CONTROLLED 2nd PHASE Play.

2nd Phase Play will tire the opposition as 3 go in for a tackle, we slip the ball out and another 3 goes in for another tackle. It almost doubles the amount of tackles they do.

But the UNCONTROLLED 2nd phase play and dropseys is what can kill us and keep us pinned in our our territory

All this being said should be behind closed doors!

I think it needs to be said but the words chosen are terrible. Annoyed is just not the right word to use.

It will leave the Young Guns in 2 minds.

Although, this could be mind games being played which I think it actually is.

That's it. I don't want to see offloads in our own 20 but controlled offloads are what we want to see. It is so hard for the defence when they think the tackle is complete and they begin to retreat to then have to tackle another player who gets the ball from an offload. You will find these runs will gain more metres, cause more mistackles and allow quicker play the balls.

They had a backrower playing on the wing, and a hooker/halfback playing in the centres while working with a 2 man bench rotation for the majority of the game, they were obviously going to struggle to keep up. I know what you're saying and I agree with a lot of it, but some of the stuff shown by players was a bit too flamboyant for finals footy. I don't know how many times I've sat there swearing at the game because someone's thrown a loose pass, or bad offload early in the tackle count, either giving the opposition great field position or ruining an attacking chance of our own. And it will happen time and time again.

And that's what Parra are good at.

The high risk passes (Grothe's passes) which cost us metres and sometimes possession has to be wiped out.

Hindy and Caylo shouldn't be saying this to the media wtf. Parra's strength is our backline, our fancy footy, if we don't play to our strengths and return to one out metre gaining play it doesn't matter who we play we've already lost. The team won't win finals games by playing negative, seriously the team needs to play the way it did yesterday, 82% completion is better than most teams playing conservative, the team most of the time made the right decisions. And i'm sick of hearing how crap the broncos were, they've been competitive in every game without their stars except this game. They have i believe the best forward pack in the comp, they play a power game, to their strengths parra needs to play a measured flamboyant game otherwise they might as well not turn up.

Eastwood, who debuted in the NRL on the wing, was the winger
Carroll, who has played a lot of centre, played centres.

I think you are struggling to realise the difference between hail mary tactics and controlled risks. I have no problems with offloading when you can but I don't want them to force the offload. What I am saying is the players running in support were there and the players looked to pass instead of tucking it under the wing for 5 rucks. There was some evidence of multiple runners in line for pass reception. That is what gave Tim Smith more options and he was classy enough to take the right options.

I think our backrow is a strength and the mobility of our forwards. They could also create more second phase for the backs to capitise.

Funny, I thought Cordoba made the two worst decisions to pass in the game - both coming back from kickoffs. One was caught and the other went bobbling away along the ground.

Apart from that I think Mateo made a bad one in the second half, and PJ's one that led to Tahu's try on half-time was a bit of a shocker (but it was the right thing to do).

Didn't see Hayne, Inu or Tim making too many bad decisions.

I think Hindy is being a bit hard on the young guys, i can't remember to many mistakes made by Hayne.Inu and Mateo of late. But he and Caylo have dropped some ball at important times.

It could all come down to being misquoted again.

I recall him on the footy show saying he never said he had genuine concerns about missing the finals.
