Hindy's Surgery

Was lucky enough to see my Nayten yesterday and I asked him about his surgery. Apparently he will not be getting his ankles cleaned up after all. Not too sure if he was disapointed with this as I think they have caused him a fair bit of aggravation in the past and he seems worried that it will flare up again next year. So he said he should be running around during the trials, not sure which games he will be playing tho.

Hmm. Seems to me by his reaction he really wanted the surgery to be done. :?

Yeah, thats how i read the situation anyways. He is gunna get about 5 rounds in and with the constant training and playing it will flare up. I personally would rather him have it done now rather than risk loosing him mid year. I think he feels the same way too.

Parramatta Advertiser story:

No surgery for Nathan
BRAD EARL
22dec04
PARRAMATTA Eels star Nathan Hindmarsh has been given the all-clear on his ankles.

The second-rower was troubled by both ankles last season but he played on to be part of Australia's Tri-Nations series win.

Hindmarsh will join his teammates in pre-season training next month after receiving the news he doesn't need surgery.

"We'll just see how they go and if they do need something, we'll wait to the end of the year again," Hindmarsh said.

"They're feeling really good at the moment. Hopefully they'll stay that way."

Yeah let's hop it actually is the right decision.
I don't get how he can play all year and say they are bothering him but the minute he stops they are fine and don't need operating. If we get to half was through next year and he needs to have time off...................

if that happens and I obviously hope it'll be a short term stint on the sidelines we will atleast be better equipt without him next season. than what we would of being this year.

:? :?

Very confusing. If the surgery was just to remove bone spurs as was my understanding I can't see why it wasn't done. It would relieve and resulting pressure that can be extremely painful for such a, at times, small thing. Obviously Doctor knows best however I'll beat him with his stethoscope if it effects his season.

could be that the was an element of risk on the surgery?..if it did go wrong I'd use more than stathoscope on him

Think Nikki would beat you to it Colonel, and I think she'd use more than a stethoscope
