i have created my own forums for west sydney razorback fans and it is only a small forum with only 17 members so far in its first few days of being open. in thos last few days we have reached 23,500 hits now thats alot for a small forum i was just curious if a small forum like mine can reach that amount what amount would a massive forum like this have. is that information aloud to be told.

A hit is everytime an file is loaded from the server, so it's not really a good indication of whats happening.

Forums are hard to get going. One i am involved with, http://www.volconvo.com got 100 members in the first week or so, but has only got another 150 over the past few months, but we are in the process of doing a mass advertisement.

Starting now.

SWJ, as Nut says, its most likely files opening, not visits. Sorry to deflate your excitement.

If you have webstats section on your server, they should also have the individual visitors.

Webstats should also have other stuff like which browsers and resolutions are being used to visit your page, as well as which country visitors are from and the time of day you get the most traffic.

For some reason, webstats call file openings 'hits' which can be a little misleading.
