Mini pays for Paris petulance
By David Beniuk
December 14, 2005

ANTHONY Minichiello was sanctioned after breaking a shop window in Paris because it happened between 4am and 5am, Australia tour co-manager John Hayes revealed today.

The Australian Rugby League this week ordered Minichiello, rugby league's player of the year, to perform community service with junior clubs over the incident, which occurred while the Kangaroos were in the French capital on tour last month.

But the ARL said it accepted the fast food outlet's window was broken by accident.

That raised the question of why he was being punished - and Hayes appeared to provide the answer.

"It's a little bit to do with the time it happened," Hayes told Sydney radio station 2KY today.

"It's probably not really acceptable to be coming home at that time of the morning.'' Asked what time the incident occurred, Hayes said: "It might be four or five o'clock in the morning."

2nd time for Minchello now, when on rep duty, and it should be last, he should be sacked from playing rep footy again, that would be a way, of showing players, that being the fool, when representing your state or country is not tolerated

I would ban him because, this is now the 2nd time he has embarrassed rugby league, when on rep duty, Minichello must understand that he is an embassador of the game, when being a rep player

Just another sign that these show ponies are overpaid and undereducated. Too much money and not enough brains...........

I need a ruling on this nomination!

After this one The Keeper Of The HOFA originally said no new nominations till 2006.

How can gems like these not be considered!

I agree Frenz, we need a ruling...

But come on! Once the Grand Final has been held (with complete exemptions granted to any GF winning player turning in a HOFA-worthy performance within a week of the victory), surely we are already in Season 2006?

News Flash

I've just had meeting with HOFA's board members.

Anything after the full time whistle in the Grand Final is eligible for the 2006 HOFA's .

The people have spoken and the board are thankful for their support and input.

Thanks, Carch.

Common sense prevails at last.

As long as that week-long complete and unconditional exemption exists for GF winning players Carch...
