Hohaia's best position

Where should Hohaia play?

Every week most of us have a go at picking teams and Lance can end up anywhere from fullback to bench, and sometimes even (heaven forbid!) in the halves.

I'm not sure why we have so many "Lance isn't a #6" or "Lance isn't a #7" posts, he seemed to go OK there in 2002/03. Since then he's been shuffled around without nailing a permanent spot.

A lot of people are saying he needs more game time - so where is the best place to play him??

I say Bench- because of the his versatility and the impact he can have off the bench.

On the field, probably fullback at the moment

I like him at the moment as a bench hooker, I dunno about him in the halves. People say its been tried and failed of late, but he has come into his own in certain positions, maybe it's time to try him there again? Hell, we couldn't possibly be worse.........could we?

Apart from Manu, Hohaia is the Warriors most lethal attacking player...so to me, he needs to be on the field as much as possible...hooker seems to the best position for him, but he needs to be on as long as possible.

I'm sure Wade can play on the wing, at least on D. He is generally secure under the high ball and can't possibly make the same bad reads on D.

Locke is also more a fullback and his positional play so far has been good. Wade can be a little lax sometimes.

His best position is probably fullback.
But his best position in the warriors line-up is coming off the bench/hooker/whatever he's doing now.

He's a good fullback but there's just no point in dropping Wade when Wade is also a good fullback and Hohaia can play other positions. Dropping wade would just mean bringing in another average player to replace Hohaia's current role, which is pointless. I think shuffling Wade around is also pointless, we get the best out of him at fullback, I think he'd probably average as f**k anywhere else (bar wing maybe, but I think we need to keep Locke there, so it's dumb option).

IMO Lance could play in the halves- When he was tried and allegedly failed, he was really a different player. He's matured in the last year, his form is consistant, and he seems our most consistant attacker.
BUT- He needs a better chance than he's been given. You can't drop the guy into a sport then bag him on one game (Like the sudden shift during last years ANZAC test in the Kiwis, when his position was changed that morning).

I agree. Couldn't really hurt us any more to try this out, surely?

Though I'd still be quite content with testing 6. Heremaia and 7. Jones first.

Jeez I'm flexible and happy to try anything that's gonna make the thing fun to watch again! At the moment it's as fun as rubbing your arse up and down a cheesegrater

Lance is our most penetrating player plus he has the best cut-out pass going. He excelled at fullback because he had a bit of space. To play him at hooker and burden him with the defence that position requires is self defeating. Top line hookers are not ex-halfbacks; the skills are different.
Lance was a bloody good standoff, he just needed someone to show confidence in him and base a game plan around him.
He offers more than has been shown by any of the others and I thought he went pretty well with Stacey on Sunday. (After all that pairing took us to our only Grand Final.)

I'm stoked he's got his chance and start at #6. I'm hoping he goes really well (But also willing to bet even if he does the team will still be changed in a couple of weeks!)

I guess this is his chance to prove us all wrong. We know what he's capable of, lets see if he can do it in the number 6 jersey.

Impact hooker off the bench, coming on and scooting from dummy yalf and trying to lift the tempo
