Walker seeks family reunion at Souths
By Brad Walter
July 15, 2004
Former Brisbane and Manly five-eighth Ben Walker has approached the Rabbitohs about coming out of retirement next season to join his brother Shane. Walker, 27, was released by the Sea Eagles at the end of last season after undergoing a knee reconstruction. His agent, Barry Collins, said the NRL's leading pointscorer in 2001 was likely to play again only if it could be alongside one of his brothers, and Chris Walker quit Souths midway through last season to join the Sydney Roosters. Shane is off contract at the end of the season but the Rabbitohs have opened negotiations with him this week and a number of others, including Shane Rigon and David Thompson.
