What more can I say?

We put up a good score against a sometimes bad Knights defence...


but our defence was abysmal and the knights just ran straight through and put up an even bigger score.... a monster score.

The signs were there last week, if Manly weren't pathetic as they were they would have won by quite a margin. Our defence has always been a problem, if we play a good attacking side we always get exposed.

How the hell were Manly gonna beat us last week? We butchered two tries of our own against them, could have won 39-14 rather than 27-14. But that's irrelevant, the fact of the matter is defence is all about attitude and it sounds like we had f**king ZERO of it yesterday.

this may mean nothing & i even know its irrlevent my self .

but i coach u/10s & we had a trail match on saturday against our arch rivals there always tough games . but since we started training a month ago ive been training these kids for this game . we have done nothing else but tackling drills & new kids have been taken aside & worked on one on one in this area . i say to my kids you only need 1 try to win a game of league if you stop the other team from scoring at all . our motto is 2 to a tackle everytime & thats what they did we won 6 trys to 2 & near the end of the match the other team called it off because players in their team where getting hurt to much & had to be carried off the field .

its quiet simple to train kids & adults to do something if you know what your doing . i know this has nothing to do with nrl but what do they do all week at training , was it joeys first game last week , did we not know what he is capable of .

the raiders need a clean out lets not end with elliott lets get the rest of the underachivers out of the place too . when is someone going to buy our club & make it successfull again .

Full credit to the knights though they deserved to win right from the start bigger in defence and much bigger in attack. The knights will probably be heading for a top 4 finish this year...and if thats what we manage to lose by (70-32) against a top 4 team than we can kiss goodbye the top 8 right now.

Everyone on here keeps criticising canberras attack and when they score 32 points they let in 70 , ifg only they can combine the two they would be unbeatable.
And by the way macko8 , i didnt see mathew elliots name next to any missed tackles.
A tradesman is only as good as his tools.

I think you mean "a poor tradesman blames his tools". Anyway, the coach is responsible for the selection of the team and some of Elliott's selections are questionable.

If mal is such a bad coach then QLD are in for a flogging.
Why dont you guys get off the coaches back and realise that most of the players are f**king useless and that half of them would be playing reggies in most other clubs.
For elliott to have gotten them to where they have been in the past is a real credit to him and usually they play with alot of heart and determination ( the last game was an exeption) and IMO above there abilities.
Lets face it , the raiders just dont have the star players that most other clubs have. They usually perform well for most of the year , but when the business end of the season rolls around they just cant compete .

Origin coaching revolves around firing the players up, how do you think Fatty got a 3-0 result in it in 95. According to your logic he should be coaching the top team. Top club coaches are responsible for building a team, then getting it to perform at an optimum level. Unfortunately for Elliott he was already in the negative once he got here due to Mal's disastrous reign.

I think i agree with Bigmac. Our quality of players has weakend every year since our last premiership in 94. We have not signed a single rep player, we have lost several rep players, we have not had a decent coach ( i think Elliot would be ok with a team like Parra), we are just going downhill every year.
Unless something happens very soon, this trend will continue.
OUr players just aren't as good as others.

Our star players that journalists and other coaches in the NRL and our opponents every week recognise only these players as our class players: schifcofske,woolford,croker,smith and withers..

This sux big time....every team who plays us should fear us because every player on the side is full of class and can match any player in the NRL.

Thats who we need as a coach. A coach not necesarrily being known for winning premierships but getting to know how the players play and getting familiar to there game and turning them into NRL stars. We need a coach that has the ability to do that.
