How about some credit to the Aussie Players?

I was not bored for 1 minute last night.
The Australian boys were outstanding.
England applied some pressure for a while and it was looking like a contest, but the Aussie boys hit straight back with some sensational attacking play.

How about we stand up and applaud the talent of these kids instead of saying International RL is dead.
Every other team should be trying to reach Australia's standard.

The time and effort these guys put in to get to the level they are at is a credit to themselves.
I don't think England were that bad last night, nobody would have got within 30 points of our boys last night.

This is why the other nations NEED continued matches against Australia, to monitor their progress each year, and see how much ground they are making up or losing to the Aussies.

Well played last night boys, it was a sensational show of attacking quality Rugby League.

great post. lets admire our own boys, and work out ways to improve the rest of the world. quick fixes, and making aussies play for other nations is not the answer. these players are at the top of their game. if they played union no other team would get within 50 of them, lets admire them for what they are.

and yes, we can still definately be beaten this tournament.

Believe me guys there are lots of admirers of the Kangaroos here in the UK. Obviously we hated being beaten in that fashion but if we step back and disconnect ourselves from the occasion and see the rugby league being played for what it is we can only sit back and dream of an English team that can play that way so consistently. Fortunately for yourselves you have the dream.:clap::clap:

Thank you, deluded pom - surely a misnomer after that post.
That's why he's got a question mark at the end of his username.

Ozenzud: That was 2005, this is 2008. The Kiwis have gotten weaker with the loss of Wiki and Jones, and the Kangaroos have gotten stronger with players like Folau, Inglis, and Slater coming into the squad. 4th string is a definite exaggeration, but a 2nd string Aussie team would still match the Lions and the Kiwis.

Look at the players we didn't have in the team: B Stewart, Hunt, Gidley, McKinnon, Bird, D Johnson, N Hindmarsh, Thaiday, Cronk, Farah, L Bailey, Anasta, O'Donnell, Campese, Hodges, Bowen, Thurston, etc.

None of those players were in the team that beat GB. Most of them would compare favourably to players in the same position in the GB and NZ teams.

The reason why Churchill is remembered is because he revolutionised the game, and to a lesser extent so did Lockyer in his time at fullback. Dont forget Minichiello a guy who if not for a back injury would still be no.1, a golden boot winner and SOO man of the series winner.

Slater needs more longevity to be on par with those two, but he is easily the best fullback since Minichiello at his peak imo.

Unfortunately I think Minichiello's career, or at least as we know him, is over. Would love to be proven wrong though, he was (and hopefully still is) a great player.

Slater needs to be playing consitently to be counted among those names, in 06 he copped suspension after suspension which saw Hunt rise to the Test arena. If he's playing like he did on Sunday 3 years down the track yes we can start looking at him as a legend.

Finally:
The Kangaroos are the best rugby team in the world, let's celebrate them for what they are! :D

That reminds me of a quote from Enough Rope

Billy Connolly: I've been reading the Bible lately
Andrew Denton: Oh, I won't tell you how it ends, it's brilliant

Yea i agree in some way, it was a great performance. I mean if we consistently put 70 on England id say its over but they, just like the kiwis can spring one on us when we least expect it.
