Me and some chums just survived on $30 food each for 4 days and we honestly ate like kings (although come to think of it, there were a few freebies, maybe it was more like $40 each). I imagine that if we had actually tried to purchase cheap things or just plain eat less (which is very possible) you could survive easily on $30 a week, especially if you reduced your weekly alcohol expenditure by $5-$10.

Hey CH,

I think a few ideas have been mentioned but

food that is close to expiry is reduced to clear, look out for those, you can get cheap meat, bread etc

if you can, buy in bulk - preferably at Aldi.

eat cheap food, rice is filling and cheap

always make your own lunch, trust me, buying your lunch every day is a killer

learn to cook, making your own meals means it is cheaper in the long run, rather then buying meals all the time

buy no frills or home brands where possible. Some food products aren't so great, but stuff like tissues etc are fine

definitely try the home brew

save power and save on your bill. always turn lights, tv off when you leave the room

Dude you shouldn't live in Alex! Go a little bit south or a little bit north. Moloolaba and Maroochydore are much better.

It wasn't his fault. He belted me across the back of the head (Or 'clipped ma earhole'), I cowered, tripped over my dog and fell backwards into a glass plate window. I was pretty lucky that I took the entire thing with me and didn't impale myself...

Humorous. On a piece of glass of course...
