How Can Rabbits Have Players Already

Shane Richardson is the CEO of Souths. George is no longer on the board of the Football Club. My point is that even if he was how can you stop him from having dinner with Braith and being involved in his negotiations?

Apparently clubs are allowed to express their interest in players before June 30, but they're not allowed to make a firm offer.

You can't stop him having dinner with Braith, but there is a clear rule in place about negotiations before June 30. Dinner and negotiations are two different things, and they would have to be able to distinguish between their business and personal relationships. It would be suss anyway, and wouldn't be smart business practice, as the NRL have the power not to ratify a contract if they believe it was done before June 30.

Thats the point, Manly were associated Via rumour and lambasted for "doing a back room deal with Orford" with no proof.

Yet george piggins is having lunch with braith and announcing that he will not be a dog next year.

Where is the NRL enforcing the anti tampering rules ?

Braith has Canterbury's permission to negotiate with other clubs.

Why do many of you care - it is a silly rule and deserves to broken. It's a restraint of trade not to be able to negotiate before june 30. If a player want to leave or go to Manly, the June 30 deadline won't and never will make a difference to negotiations - expcet take it behind closed doors.

eelandia is right Anti-tampering is a joke and every team in the NRL would have broken it at some stage.

6, 7 & 13. I like it too, & good on em.

Who cares if Souths did breach the rules this time round. I'm not a Bunnies supporter but I'm sick of seeing them unable to compete consistantly with the balance of the competition.

F**k Manly fans are a sour bunch of moaning ****s. Still filthy that Lyon isn't with them this year I expect!

As a Souths supporter I have heard all this before. We usually end up getting nobody. All these supposed "done deals" could very easily be the players' managers leaking bullsh*t info to journos so as to lift the profiles and salaries of their players. As for Piggins, well he doesn't have anything to do with the Souths footy club any more (despite the media running to him every second day) so believe what you want to there I suppose.

If we do get Bell, Orford, Anasta, etc I'll be doing cartwheels but I'm not getting excited until they are announced officially.
For once I wish I had been wrong. :(
