I've only been helping out on this site since January and just wanted to know who got this website off the ground and how long it has been running? It's a real success and props to the people that keep it running.

As for who, well some know but as with most business, its also confidential.

Its been up and running in various formats since 2002 and thats to all with thanks to our hardworking volunteers (like yourself) and its been a huge success.

Twizzle summed it up well Jack. Have a look in the Classic Threads forum for more. There is stuff there from forum members who started the ball rolling. FTR LU was never a business venture, but of course it has to be managed. Bottom line is that LU was started by Rugby League supporters and those foundations remain in place to this day.

The same as any business ownership is confidential if the owners want to remain so.

Its not like its a public company.

A couple of league fans were sitting around having a drink...

Fan 1: Hey, do you post on rleague?
Fan 2: Yeah mate. All the time
Fan 1: Me too. Its cool to be able to talk league with a lot of like-minded fans
Fan 2: Sure is

*both take a sip of their beers*

Fan 1: Pity the bloke who runs it is such a giant douche
Fan 2: Yeah

*more beer sips*

Fan 1: Maybe we could start our own league site so we don't have to put up with that wanker?
Fan 2: That could work

And LU was born

The truth is it was started by Australia's leading manufacturer of female genital toupees as a means of getting their product mentioned very regularly on the interweb and with their natural target market - rugby league nerds.
