How did Panthers players perform in origin?

Petero: usual high standard
Lewis: very good before he got injured
Jennings and Gordon: didn't see much ball but were solid.

If Petero retired from rep footy, which is highly likely, I think Lewis, Jennings and Gordon will all be there next year, with Tim Grant a very good chance for a front row position.

Waterhouse shouldve been there and should be there next season too.

All the Panthers boys played well I thought.

The Blues lost the game all thanks to the Ennis penalty... useless

Jennings showed how much he has improved in defence. Selectors have no excuse to not put him in next year. Unfortunately he didn't have a real chance to shine in attack.

Lewis was also solid in defence but didn't shine in attack. He needs to be there next year again I think but he'll probably be on the bench again.

If Gordon doesn't get selected next year it won't be because he did anything wrong, it will be because the selectors think whoever replaces him will be better. He did good work, but I predict he will be dropped for some winger with more star power.

They all get a sticker not getting seriously injured.

Michael Gordon is likely to be one of those one SOO wonders. Not that he isn't good enough to play at that level but by the time next season rolls around the Jamie Lyons, Tahu's, Gasnier's and a host of more high profile players will be available for selection again and likely to get the nod. The obvious winger for the Blues will be the Newcastle powerhouse who as I understand qualifies for the Blues in 2011.

Exactly what I was thinking Kilkenny. Love the guy, but as soon as Uate is eligible he is likely to replace him. The best Gordon can hope for is probably being the reserve for that spot, which is unfortunate. If they pick anyone other than Uate over him though I think that will be a stupid move (considering his form is decent, of course).

An outsiders opinion.

Michael Gordon: Very solid. Came up with a couple of good runs and that offload just before the Gidley try was remarkable. Was concerned how he would fair but didn't really look out of place, in fact he was probably NSW best winger this series.

Michael Jennings: Quiet and came up with that silly chip kick on the last to deny NSW a promising opportunity.

Luke Lewis: Disappointing. Didn't play too many minutes and when he did play he was getting bumped off tackles. He should bounce back though.

Petero Civoniceva: A typical Civo performance. What more can be said?

As for Waterhouse, he's a wonderful club player but right now he's certainly got players ahead of him for NSW.

Agreed on all points.

Especially Trent Waterhouse. He absolutely kills it at club level and his past few weeks especially have been great. But he didn't really do much for NSW.

Luke Lewis was just unlucky to pick up his injury before our forwards got on top against QLD. He was on the field when QLD dominated possession. IMO he would have killed it down the right when our forwards were ontop and Ennis wasn't on the field. Instead all he done was went for a few big hits and had some misses.
