How do we win it all in 2012?

For your team to improve...
Teach Farah and Benji how to count to 6 in English and remind them to kick the ball on the fifth, tackle deep in to the corners. Then your team will go one step closer to the Grand Final.
Remember Prince use to do most of the kicking in 2005 and he knew how to count to 6.

As much as there is a tinge of smart ass in your post, you are correct.

I have said it for years that we need a dominant number 7.

Are Ellis and Tuqiri off contract at the end of this season? As much as I would love to keep Gareth I think he will go home at the end of this contract. Surely the money these 2 are on will be a halfback.

Is Maloney the answer?

Tigers have missed golden opportunities last couple of years with some school boy decisions. Heighington not diving on ball and Farah/Marshall running ball on last tackle inside own half assisted in our demises. Tigers need a halfback who can get team around paddock - no one has come close since Prince left as this would free up Farah and Marshall to do their jobs. Forwards well and truly overdue for a thorough clean out with Gibbs, Fifita, Flanagan moving on and Payton retiring. Young Woods/Groat/Murdoch-Masila have to take up challenge and run straighter, harder and defend fearcer. Too many shimmies by Heighington makes him stop at line (Gibbs has similar problem and Fifita has crabway syndrome) and these deficiencies should have been eliminated by the coach long ago. A reliable and attacking fullback with heart is also essential. A coach that does not rely on under performing pets with some bewildering decisions such as Utai in centres (only best a winger), Benji a halfback (a running attacking five eighth), Brown being constantly overlooked (must makes him feel about as useful as a turd in a swimming pool) as well as highest point scorer in under 20's Mullaney never given a chance.
Tuqiri appeared sluggish and disinterested, whilst it can be argued that he was getting over injuries, Lawrence was the opposite.
These days football is a business and it is about WINNING.

Not much.

Personally I think Benji has to step up a step further in the finals. Andrew Johns did it. Benji has the ability. I don't think he stepped up enough in the finals this year. Last year was different - I think Farah stuffed us. This year Benji didn't stuff us but he didn't do enough.
i agree 100% about benji but to me i though he played injured in the last 2 games of the finals, it wasnt our usual benji

Iam not sure you can win the comp without a rep class no1 and no7 and we have neither.

We will be up their but we are well behind a team like Manly for mental toughness and the ability to grind out wins and rub the other teams nose in it.

Blair will be a very handy pick up and our forwards should go better in 2012,still worried about who is going to drive them around the field. I see us as a maybe top four team but still a little off being a premiership threat

When do they go back to training, start of next month?
Will Georgie be running the show?
Im sure the club has an idea of just what our roster will be, but still at this stage two key positions are out of our hands
Hopefully Schooey decides one way or the other next week, and Luis case is determined though I doubt the latter....
That said I think we'll either have a rookie or a makeshift player in either the 1 or 7...not the best scenario

Gareth will 100% go home at the end of his contract.

Maloney would be a God send.

I Doubt we will ever see Koroibete or Grant in 1st grade, we have much finer and faster talent in Ryan and Utard. Shifty knows what it takes to win comps .

Ryan has been good for us as has Utai. I do get your point however that Utai is probably not the best option going forward.

In saying that Tuqiri is the one that hasn't performed especially if money is considered.

True about Lote, lets hope after an off season he gets his confidence back. As for Utai id prefer a winger who offers more than charging at the defence like a forward an getting tackled. I wont a player who can contest bombs, beat his man run a 100 metres an also have a clue in defence.

Completely different players.

Benji is no man-manager, he relies on individual brillance.

Joey was a maestro along with the individual brillance(not with the same athleticisim as Benji though).

To answer the question, I don't think you can in 2012.

I thought you would this year. I thought you were good things actually, but two oh so close campaigns back to back can have a real bad effect on a team when combined with player movements. You might go alright through the season, but the demons will rear their heads at the end. Trust someone who knows. Those demons might only take 15 minutes in a couple of semis to come on,but they can take years to erase.

Your saving grace could be Blair as a leader in the pigs.

Unfortunately I tend to agree. Am also very worried about losing Gibbs.

Gibbs will be a massive loss, every time he went off on rotation you could see the gaps the other teams were exploiting. I am just hoping Blair will bring a winning attitude to the team along with a few ideas stolen from Bellamy.

I am confident, with good team selections we can win the comp next year...bit of luck with injuries and players not coming into the season injured (and carrying the injuries all year) would be a good start.

Good luck anyway. We've got a great rivalry with your boys now. Its f**king great for the game to have a massive, current, Sydney based rivalry between successful clubs. The moltzen thing adds a bit more spite.

here's hoping Timid doesn't graze his knees or get sand in his vag and have to sit out half the season for ya's.

Bring on 2012 hey!
