How do you pick a team for next week?

Like I said Mearsy is doing some good stuff, but Fitzy can do the same stuff at least as good. Fitzy into dummy half against a tiring defence is dangertime, and it makes him run instead of dance. Plus Mears is as you say an out and out 9. I think he's better than Holly, but I don't get a say.

If Senter starts at hooker then you should just play one hooker. You can't play 2, but you can play a hooker and a utility who can play hooker. You need to have beef on the bench to match the top sides. Playing Fitzy there gives you the hooker interchange that Sheens seems so keen on (when you select Senter in 9 I can see why) but also because he can cover for any backline injuries it frees up the other three spots for big units.

1.Hodgson
2.Moodie
3.Halatau
4.Elford
5.Fitzhenry
6.Prince
7.Kerr
8.Skandallis
9.Senter
10.Laffranchi
11.Galea
12.O'Neill
13.Wilson

14.Mears
15.Payten
16.Gibbs
17.Heighington

Wilsons defence was solid in the middle of the park - so leave him in there. I really think the whole side picks themself pretty easily besides one of the wing spots.

I think AJ is on the money here . With Satts out for 2 weeks then Wilson is a good fit for the back row and he can switch to the backline if the need arises .

Kerr's long passing game is sensational . how deep was our backline yesterday ? The space it gave our backs just killed the warriors defence . Give Prince an extra couple of metres and he'll carve up a lot of sides . Actually the way the backline is functioning at the moment reminds me a lot of the '94 raiders side that sheens coached to a premiership .

To compete with the quality forward packs(the Dragons being one of them)you definately need Laffranchi starting in the second row with Skando and Payten in the front row. This gives us extra size and most importantly go forward. If you start Galea ,O`Neill and Wilson as the back row,you will find that after the two props hit the ball up,the go forward will be inaffective!!!

Excellent side A.J but vicious makes a good point. Possibly Payton 2 prop, Laffranchi to the 2nd row and Galea to the bench is the answer.

If anyone was watching tonights channel 10 news, you would have noticed Scott Prince had strapping on his leg.Obviously only precautionary, but even if there`s a slight problem,it could mean that he will start the Dragons game off the bench.

as good as Kerr is, there is no doubting prince's ability and the fact that he is a representative player

kerr is a very good service half, that is, setting up the forwards and kicking on the 5th,

therefore, it's good to have him in premier league- that is unless he can play 5/8th

otherwise u'd have to have "rocks in ur head" to decide to put prince in a position he has not played at this yr/.......

You would have to have "rocks in your head" if u think prince wasn't
playing 5/8 when reynolds was around.

I am a huge fan of kerr's....sorry

IMHO kerr is a hell of alot better than reynolds.Prince was playing outside
reynolds.I just can't see why sheen's wouldn't opt the same.

i cant see why u would want him there anyway... wheres he playing on wednesday night????

and did u really think reynolds was a success at half? he was our worst buy.....

kerr's good as i said as a back up.... if he was the andrew johns u describe him as he would be still playing for st. george instead of matthew head....

IMO prince is a better 5/8 than half when he gets good ball from the
half.Watch some games last year from the broncos and u will see
what i mean.Alot more dangerous with ball in hand.

Reynolds was dissapointing,I had reasonably expectation which
he didn't live up to.

Did u think johns would have got a name for himself if he just played pl?
I never said he was a 'joey or orford' but kerr has the potentuial to
make a name for himself.
Hasn't kerr had a few injuiry problems in the past. But also with
firman ahead of him last year why wouldn't he want to be released?

If something's not broke, don't fix it...... why f**k around with a team that is sitting 6th on the ladder 1/2 way through the season

so prince gets back from origin and we say "hey scott, well played in ORIGIN, oh by the way, we've decided this premier league player is better than u - so ur now at no.6"

changing players around like sheens did last yr and wat lamb did CONSTANTLY is not something we need at the moment

if u hear most interviews with sheens he stresses the importance of CONSISTANCY.... moving players around does not provide this....

not

Okay

Did nathan brown play timmins at 5/8 the other night because of
playing that position in origin.No

So u don't want players brought up from pl because u want to
see the same (consistant) team read out team played each week
win/lose or draw.Even if players are in a form slump.

I rate prince highly as a 5/8,yet he is ATM the best option at
half for queensland.

U say sheens want consistancy which to u mean not changing
the team around.I would be very suprised if we have had the
same 17 for 3 weeks in a row this year.

6th on the table.
Who cares who was sitting on the 6th on the ladder half way
though the season if they don't make the 8 when it counts.

And yes i do think we will make the 8

a team is always going to change the 17 in some way or another- its stupid to think that it will always be identical

im sorry i didnt realise prince was in a form slump as u say... i actually think hes been playing pretty damn good over the last weeks

and if u rate him good as a 5/8th thats fine but u dont pick the team sheens does and thats why prince hasnt been playing there....

and yeah we r in the 8 and we will make the 8 u cant just go ahead and assume we will miss the 8 this early anyway..,....

Where did i say prince is in a form slump?
I wanna see prince with less pressure on him, organising, kicking
game.He is more affective wider of the ruck.

I never said we will miss the 8.But the real comp starts after round 26

If kerr's a dud or wilson plays 5/8 with prince at 1/2 i'll be
happy if we are winning

newsflash: we are winning

Reynolds didn't even play one game at Halfback. If your saying Reynolds is our worst buy because he didn't perform, surely that tag goes to Pat Richards at the moment.

Not to be picky ,lol, but that was an ice pack actually. Still, i've had a look around and cant find any mention of Princey struggling so yeah its obviously a precautionary measure.

My side for next week , assuming Sattler is again out.

1. Hodgson

2. Moodie
3. Halatau
4. Elford
5. Fitzhenry

6. Prince
7. Kerr

8. Payten
9. Senter
10. Skandalis
11. Laffranchi
12. O'Neill
13. Galea

14. Mears
15. Gibbs
16. Harrison
17. Heighington
18. Fulton
19. Wilson

Do what you want with the halves but its fair to say Kerr dersrves to hold his spot in the side. O'Neill should of course be back but if not the Heighington to slot back in. I've named Fulton and Wilson and cover incase O'Neill and Prince dont play.
