How many countries could a bloke play for?

If I was born in USA, moved here at 3, played all my junior footy here, my mum was from Samoa, my dad from Tonga’s, my nan from Ireland and pop from Scotland, and the other nan and pop from
Wales and England. Could I play for any of these 8? Possible to have more?

Edit- then i spend 5 years in France playing footy...

You could play for any of them except Australia unless you did so before you went to France. What's more you could swap between any of them as many times as you like except between Australia and England and as long as you did so within the rules or got dispensation.

What if the home town of my parents/grandparents changed from Venice to Austria-Hungary to Italy to Yugoslavia to Croatia rule ?

Well your parents and grand parents could be dual citizens so you could add in another 8 options, hypothetically speaking

No you couldnt...the heritage rule only extends to birth

The rules regarding changing between Tier 2/3 nations haven’t changed. You can only change once every 4 years with the approval of the RLIF.
