Was it that we played Melbourne, Keefy pulled out on game day or just before and the sheensius replaced him with Stuart Flanagan ? Was it the Daine Laurie hands like asotasi/burgess/edmed day ??

That one was a masterstroke, right up there with the blind side scrum play that comes off once a season whilst on the other 4 million occasions we run it out, kick on the first or drop the ball

Yep. As Pistol pete said, another masterstroke from Sheens. Why he never told Laurie to catch the ball still has me seething.

I disagree. I don't think Sheens told him not to catch the ball. He did though coach his ability to catch a ball out of him.

I was at that 2009 game with a hangover that still ranks in the Guinness Book of Records. My condition was not improved by what was seen on the pitch. I do remember Ayshford playing #6 and making a decent fist of it though, would have been one of his very fist FG games.

It seems that our most promising players have a bit of a curse here.

Tuiaki and Dwyer most notably, Marshall in his early years, Farah and his back, even young Sirro had to have a shoulder op last year.

We were so lucky John Morris didn't miss one minute with injury

That would really have been the straw the broke the camel's back if the curse had struck the next immortal

At least he wasn't at half that game, probably explains why we were even in the contest.
