Most-maligned, you mean that Hunt is often criticized by people, but the criticism is unfair or exaggerated because they have good qualities too?

The problem is that Hunt is not adapting to a shared half role and is not therefore, excelling in his best quality - His running game.

He has proven unable to relinquish control and fails miserably as the game manager.

He's had more than a fair chance, imo.

Couchman and Sele the only forwards over 100m, some of them horribly low like Frances Molo. Yeah he kicked terribly but he's also leading the league in try assists, not many halves shine when forward packs get smoked

Hear what you are saying but his form has been poor even when our pack doesnt get smoked. The reason he is leading try assists is because of his ball hogging possession, he has not once shown the capacity to drag the team out of a hole or at the very least change the momentum of a game. He is way past being an elite anything.
