because carl webb says so...?
No. Because common sense says so.

He looks to me to be exactly like what Bryan Fletcher looked like at that age. He'll end up in the 2nd row for sure.Where do you think Tom Symonds will be playing? Five eighth?
Last weekend Tom Symonds made 3 line breaks, Mitch Aubusson made none. Tom made 22 tackles, Aubusson made 11. Mitch has had two years more experience of first grade than Tom. These stats tell me that Tom is a boom centre in the making, and will be an awesome combo with future super star JP du Plessis by 2011.

To be honest, he's probably the only junior to come out of the Roosters that has genuinely impressed me in recent years. The rest are over-hyped. I don't know why you're bothering comparing him to Mitchell Aubusson, you're comparing him with a useless center, it's not a meaningful ground for comparison.
As for Du Plessis, have you actually seen him play? He doesn't even know how to play rugby league yet, how the hell could u say it would be an awesome combo when his adaptation of the game is a complete unknown? 3/4 line play is a completely different kettle of fish in league from union. The workrate is much higher.
I'll be amazed if there are over 5 players left standing once Smith gets his hands on that rabble.
You beat me to it.
SKD, Sa and Koupa will be lucky to be there next year.
I doubt carney will be able to stay sober to 2012. Brian Smith is gonna cull big time at the Roosters, I would not be suprised to see a dozen players be shown the door.
You still didn't quite get my point. Aubusson is a pathetic center, if Symonds looks better than him, it is no achievement.I am comparing him with Aubusson because Aubusson was the player next to him in the centres, and a more experienced one to boot. Aubusson will be retained next year for only as long as it takes to groom JP du Plessis.
There are success stories in every position, but for every one of them, there are hundreds of failed ones. Until he plays the game you simply do not know.Centres and wingers can usually adapt very easily from union to league. Michael O'Connor is the best example ever. But the Roosters have their own good experience with Ryan Cross.
Sullivan also spoke highly of Sisa Waqa, one of your dud wingers this season. The quality of Folau and Inglis were known before the storm bought them in scouting circles, he was just willing to pay more for them when they weren't proven. It's actually a philosophy that has worked well for the Storm with many players, it doesn't mean he is more astute at spotting talent just willing to put a little bit more money behind his convictions. But you don't hear about the failures, only successes.Du Plessis came with a huge rap from his rugby union coach in South Africa, who runs the best elite rugby union academy in the nation.
The only rugby league judge of talent who has seen du Plessis play is Peter Sullivan. This is the same Peter Sullivan who discovered Greg Inglis and Israel Folau. That is all that you or I or anyone else on this forum needs to know to be sure that the Roosters have snared a future super star.
No Sandor Earl?

The reality is, even if this kid is as brilliant as he's talked up to be, it'll be at least 2-3 years before he instinctively knows how to play the game.
