Differential is still important in a few scenarios. If both us and the Broncos win next week we can overtake them on differential and gain an extra place if we win by 8 points more than they do. Similar situation if both lose, though it's likely that if that happens the Eels will overtake both for 8th spot due to them playing the Raiders.

i don't think you should really worry about Brisbane and their points diff unless we both lose and Eels lose. Simplified, we just have to beat Penrith and we are in the 8.

Brisbane play Melbourne so in the unlikely scenario of a draw, Brisbane is gone or potentially Melbourne or Canterbury.If Brisbane beat Melbourne, the points differential of Melbourne is below us and they will be on 30 points still
If Melbourne beat Brisbane, Brisbane will be on 28.
If Bulldogs lose, they would drop below us due to +-. If they win they could leave Melbourne missing the 8. We just have to beat Penrith, get to 30 points and we are in 7th or 8th.
