How to fix it...

I thought the captains challenge worked really well in the Knights vs Dragons a few years ago. But I’m true NRL style they haven’t tried it again since

At last years coaches convention Craig Bellamy told everyone we are not having it. Seriously, Bellamy put a line through it. I hate that guy so much.

Fire all and sundry

Hire Russell Smith from super league for a mint if he asks for it, we need the merkin

Allow each ref a tryout/training and cut the ones who won't adapt,a reality show if you need it to pay for Smith, I don't care

One ref system,2 touchies and an in goal official at each end

All international rules, including international interchange limits

Independent HIA on field staff to police the HIA dogging

Captain's challenge per half

Referee to the f**king rules even if it costs 30 or more penalties a game

Clean up the 10, possibly using those touch judges and give us a graphic to show the 10, or at the least make it available to coaches and refs after a game

Adopt all Rugby Union rules again. Then make small changes from there.

Relive the Rugby League spin off experiment but do it for the new century.

Damn that sounds dangerous. Like that surgery they do where they stop your heart for 5 minutes then bring you back.

We have to accept technology as part of sports, it can never be eradicated completely but we need to control how/when it is used in a much better way.

We also need to instil confidence in the officials to make a call on the spot and to be completely fair to them, I reckon 75% of their try/no try calls are corroborated by the bunker with the remainder being split between no evidence to overturn and the bunker overruling (whether that be correct or incorrect).

I think restriction is the way to go, bring in the captains challenge. That forces the ref to make a call and put the onus on the players to refer it if they think they have legitimately been hard done by. Restricting a captains challenge to only 1 incorrect referral per half will force them to accept calls that are 50/50 and only challenge the ones that they know (or strongly suspect) are wrong.

In conjunction with this, I would have the on-field referee review the video and make the decision with the aid of whoever is in the bunker thereby ensuring that a single individual is making all decisions in a given game.

I reckon it'll be about 5 rounds until people are dissatisfied with a Captain's Challenge system.

The bunker/review will get the two challenges wrong (or go a certain way with a 50/50) and then a third hard done by call will come up.

What are you gibbering about? I sense this isn't hostile, but still WTF.

lol ahhhhh, you Colonial types

Yorkshire and Lancashire were full of Mills from the Industrial Revolution on-wards producing linen, steel, coal, iron works etc - whenever they went on strike, it was said "there was trouble at mill"

But mills were originally used for making bread
