STRENGTHS: The Bombers almost always look strong and steady off the field, which can provide handy insulation against bottom-outs on the field. The Bombers also possess a handy core group of gun players: Lloyd, Hird, Fletcher & Lucas, and despite some assertions to the contrary, have a very reasonable clump of youngsters coming through.
WEAKNESSES: Not a hell of a lot to put in the 'strengths' column for the Bombers. Sheedy has been good for the club over a long period, but he looks tired and the side mirrors his decline. As for Collingwood, the Bombers sorely lack legspeed across the park and have this exacerbated by a dwindling talent base. Their rucks are average, their midfield ordinary, and the side has an unhealthy reliance on a few players who are quickly moving past their best.
PREDICTION: Cannot make the finals and should be looking at a long season.
