STRENGTHS: The Cats are a very even side across the board and unlike many other clubs don't carry an overt reliance on a small group of players. The side is usually very hard at the ball and has a broad contingent of midfielders who have little trouble finding the pill. The Cats have a defense that (for mine) is second only to Adelaide's and appears to be more than capable in the ruck. The club has reached the point in its development where it seems to have the skill, experience and balance mix largely right. The added spur brought on by last year's heartbreaker against the Swans should also supply plenty of motivation.
WEAKNESSES: The attack remains a bit of a worry, particularly with Ottens failing to find fitness and top form. While the evenness of the side can be a major plus throughout the home and away season, question marks remain about the team's "go up" capacity come finals time. While the Cats have plenty of grunt in the centre of the ground, its midfield can appear somewhat blue collar at times.
PREDICTION: Now must be the time for this club, which will finish somewhere in the eight.
