How would you schedule your teams draw in 2012?

Round 1 not on a Monday night would be a nice change after having 3 in a f**king row.

Home games
SFS: Manly (rd 1), St George, Bulldogs, Souffs
Leichhardt: Parra, Melbourne, Sharks, Raiders (3 or 4 on a Sunday)
Campbelltown: Roosters, Cowboys, Panthers, Newcastle

(No home games: Brisbane, Warriors, Titans)
3 teams we don't have to play away: Knights, Cowboys, Storm.

Eels home game against manly to be a Sunday arvo game.

Rd1 to be against storm on Friday night at a packed out parra stadium would be good.

For those people requesting to play certain teams twice... that isnt an option.

That is decided on by the finishing position on the table the year before.

I think Timmah is asking for more specific requests like who to play in what round and where not which teasm they get to play twice.

On a side note, i hate how the draw isnt even (i know its impossible) but until wew playe veryone once or twice it will be an uneven comp IMO.

Wrong. Seedings into groups went out a few years ago. Nowadays every club has the right to nominate which clubs 1-16 they want to play at home to maximise crowds and the NRL does the draw accordingly.

With only four sides left in the 2011 comp, thought I'd throw this topic up for discussion for the other 12 clubs (and the remaining four if they so desire).

Basically, if you were running your club and got to liaise with the NRL in regards to the draw for 2012 - what special requests would you make?

For me, I'd ask:

- Bulldogs v Dragons twice, but not both in the first ten rounds as has been the case in recent years. Perhaps even have one clash in the last few rounds
- Bulldogs v Souths and Parramatta to still happen twice for ANZ Stadium contra deal thing. Timing probably better to be early in the year for all clashes for crowd purposes
- Ditch either the Suncorp DH or Adelaide trip and play a game at Gosford
- If that's not possible, move just ONE game against a low-drawing side to Belmore. PLEASE!

I guess there's also general requests for the good of the game - i.e. better match-ups in themed rounds (Heritage, Rivalry etc)... throw yours up!

Agree with most of yours Tim, id love for them to give up the Adelaide and Brisbane game and move one to Gosford or Belmore but it wont happen. We should be happy we have a trial at BSG next year at least which is a start.

- Bulldogs/Dragons must be spread out, have one early and one in the closing rounds.

Also, i know it wont happen but id love to play the Eels at Parra stadium, Tigers at Leichardt and Dragons at Kogarah but the first two obviously wont happen and who knows with the Dragons, probably end up in the Gong which is just dumb.

- Play Parra twice.
- Play the Dragons at Penrith for the first time since 2009.
- Play in Townsville, absolutely awesome trip!
- No day time games at Penrith for the first couple of Rounds. Round 1 this year was ridiculous, something like 37 degrees. Families with kids had to leave before kick off. People passing out and the canteen area looked like a hospital ward.

For the Panthers:

Eels x2
Bulldogs x2
Tigpies x2
Warriors x2
v Dragons in Wollongong

Obviously not next year, but I would love an NRL quality stadium (Large stands + hills at 25k) to be constructed at either Port Macquarie (v Knights) or Bathurst (v Raiders) and 1 game per year sent there.

Btw Im totally against the idea of draws to maximise crowds. A rolling schedule over a 2-3 year period is the only fair way to operate. Otherwise we'll eventually we'll end up with a massively contrived competition like the AFL

As a Roosters fan in Brisbane I pray we have a game at Suncorp. Since 2005 the Roosters have only played in Brisbane twice and both of those games were last year, Round 20 vs. Broncos & Preliminary Final against the Titans.

As a league fan in general living in Brisbane, less Friday night games. An even spread across the Broncos 12 home games would be nice, even Monday games. Suncorp is one ground where Monday night games work as it's walking distance from CBD and has great transport. You get less drunk loud-mouth bogans going to Monday night games too.
Friday (x3)
Saturday (x3)
Sunday (x3)
Monday (x3)

If the double-header is to remain it must be moved to Sunday afternoon, 2pm & 4pm.

For the Knights, no trip to Canberra(though we got them this year) and no trip to Brookie.

Manly scares the daylights out of me, we are never a chance!
