top 3 clubs from nrl + warriors (so theres a bit more of an international feel)
and the top 4 from the super league.
to play like a knockout or mini world club challenge comp.
thoughts? ideas?

and

instead of having "england" at world 7's, why not have the top 4 SL teams?

or have england, ireland, wales and all them come to the 7's as well.

let me know what you think.
and does anyone have any more info on whether there is any more teams coming to 7's next year?

Super League had something similar in 1997 and it was a complete farce.

The World Club challenge itself is a bit of a joke.
The NRL produces the best Rugby League Club team in the world every year.
The only reason that England teams win it is because the NRL teams don't take it seriously.
When the Roosters took it seriously earlier this year, they won it easily.
It wasn't so long ago that the players would go to England to play the game as part of their end of season trip....So you can imagine how seriously they would be taking the game then

If the Poms were as competitive as the NRL teams and the players were Supermen there's a chance.

Like Sully said, the last time it happened the Poms got flogged which basically killed that idea.

And of course the increased workload, there's already a problem with the toll the game is having on the players.

Find solutions to those two problems and you could well be in newcastle_guy!

Yeah nice one!!!

That is exactly what is happeneing in 2004, it was Wayne Bennetts idea and unless something has changed since the start of the year when this story broke it will kick off next year.

Apprently if they play as 'england' they are funded by sports England. The gov over there apparently to try and boost Englands sport has setup a body to give funding to English teams to help them perform better.

Initially some ESL teams were coming to the 7's but as they wouldnt recieve the government grant the decided just to send 'England'.

who gives a s**t anymore!!! Johns has retired

Andrew?? WOW big news if true.

It was a farce because the English teams weren't competitive.

The thrashings they were receiving was dull and boring.

Nobodies interested in that.
