Well, since you left Goldberg vs. Hogan (from Nitro) off the poll, I went with Hogan vs. Warrior - the way the fans carried that match was just amazing.

But for mine, Goldberg vs. Hogan on Nitro will go down as one of the greatest matches I've ever seen. It wasn't technically brilliant, but damn did it tell a tremendous story.

I too thought the match was good. The match had a awsome atmosphere through out the match, and was one of Nitro's biggest moments in my opinion.

Goldberg vs. Hogan, could've been a real turning point if they followed it up with a good PPV besides from what we were given in Bash at the Beach.

What they should have done was have the Goldberg vs. Hogan match at a Pay-Per-View where it would have generated an arseload of cash. As it was they won the ratings on a night that, in all seriousness, they probably would have won them on anyway.

Agreed, That pretty much started the downhill slide for WCW, If they put it on PPV instead of worrying about TV Ratings, They would of made a sh*tload of cash, Thats why McMahon is so smart, Cuz back then McMahon cared for what money he made from PPV's, That year WM 14 made a heap of money that whole thing with Mike Tyson/HBK and Austin paid off a treat, WWE just sat back watched the dollars rolled in and got back on top in the Wrestling world, While Bishoff could only worry about Ratings and signing WWE cast-offs like Nash,Hall and Luger push them and leave the younger talent like Benoit, Mysterio and Guerrero on the backburner, While WCW had over the hills like Piper,Hogan and Savage, WWE were making new starts plus doing over there top stars like HHH, Austin, Rock and Undertaker.

True what you said Mulder, but I still think wrestling is a better place when you have the likes of Hogan and Savage running round, whether they are over the hill or not, there still great in my opinion.

as far as wrestling goes...he is a zero
as far as hype goes...WM3 vs andre was his best. 93k people at the pontiac silverdome.
Closely followed by WM6 vs the warrior and then WM18 vs the Rock.

93,000 was the "official" WWF released figure. The actual crowd was alot less than that. WWF used "superleague" type crowd counters. ;-)

His match with Savage is the best on that list, Savage totally carried him. The best match Hogan had but was probably the 94 cage match against Ric Flair in WCW..

Well you know somthing Mene Gene. People talk about that match with the Warrior. They say Hulk brother, what was it like to walk into the silverdome in front of 93000 Hulkamaniacs and loose to the Ultimate Warrior, and I say brother , that was only a hiccup in the road, and Hulkamania will still get back into the drivers seat. All you Hulkamaniacs think its my greatest match, and for that brother I say yes. For me personally brother, I could not go past Wrestlemania 3. Noone thought I could do it brother, they all said to me "Hulk brother, you cant do this" and I was like "brother yes i can" , and I prooved them wrong when I slammed the 500 pound monster and got the 3 count. So for me that is my greatest

Maybe, but I loved that WCW put bif matches on Nitro instead of saving them fpr ppv's. But then I was a casual fan who never watched a ppv.

It always helps when the 500 pound monster jumps too, brother.

Thats pro wrestling.

He'd still have been f'n hard to hold for a half second without falling backwards and making an ar$e of it all. It was quite an historic move.

What the hell are you 2 talking about?

That is 500lb of living flesh, Brother - Anyone can lift dead bar bell weights but that is true living flesh. Twice as hard to do. Just ask Jesse the Body Ventura and Gorilla Monsoon.

Hogan V Muta in NJPW was quite a fun match. Hogan made a great all american western opponent up against the antics of Muta. Hogan told a solid story in the match by taking a no nonsense approach against Muta who had some really cool spots in a typical 80's manner (he leaves the ring at one point and just lays on the ramp way annoying the sh*t out of hogan). Nice little exchange at the start with Hogan taking Muta down with a rolling cross armbreaker.

Its a match that shows why Hogan is one of smartest wrestlers of all time, quite simply the guy could work a match if he needed to, he just knew in the US what he needed to be at the top. Fans should remember the guy was on top of wrestling business for a long time and good luck to him if he pulled this off with a limited moveset and simple matches. At the end of the day he made millions and had longevity without ever risking long term injury and his career.

If anyone ever doubts Hogan they should check out as many Heenan interviews as they can, and just hear Bobby's thoughts on the guy from AWA days all the way through to the height of his WWF reign. Wrestling doesn't always need to be about 5 star matches.

You mean The Skydome in Toronto, Canada right?

Silverdome = WM 3
Skydome = WM 6
