Yes mate they did, unfortunatly they paid a heavy price by losing 2 points in their salary cap breach which proved the difference in the end.

Hard to believe that they were in the top 3 for half of the season but they also had a terrible run of injuries which contributed to their downfall.

They wouldn't have made the play offs even with those two points, Warringtons points difference was marginally better.

Hulls downfall came with their horrific away form, with defeats at places like Wakey and Widnes they didn't really deserve a play off spot. Everyone has injuries to cope with, just look at Wigans this season. It puts it into perspective just how well the Wigan youngsters have done this year when you consider a lot of people are now tipping them for GF glory.

They'll be much stronger next season with their additional games against the bottom 5 teams. They should be pushing for top 3 at least next season. I hope so. The game over here needs a strong Hull team.

That's the plus side. As long as they don't suffer another horrific injury crisis like they did this year, they should get a 2nd or 3rd finish with them drawing the bottom sides.

Hull are my big tip for the Grand final next year, one thing though is that they should get a british coach as it seems to be doing wonders for the pies and bulls.

It has, keep your eyes peeled ozzies and brits alike Hull KR will be back in the top flight for 2005 and the derby matches have been a long time coming to 20k+ at the KC for those[/i]

There`s more chance of plaiting soot than Hull K.R. winning promotion next season . They are already in off the field turmoil with the call for an extraordinary general meeting to oust some of the board . As for on the field activities I see a few of your "stars" are refusing to sign up for next season after they were offered less than acceptable terms . Leigh meanwhile are quietly recruiting SL players for what will be their successful promotion to SL . You`re more dead than red .

From what I have heard the quota players make the Hull side half decent and all the local blokes they got are extremely ordinary.

No surprise they missed the finals.

I think you heard wrong Harko, Richard Horne is the most gifted player in the UK, then they have several other excellent young local players like Paul Cooke, Paul King, Kirk Yeaman, Graham Horne, Richard Fletcher.
Gareth Carvell and Gaz Rayner arent locals but they are also fine players.

Hull's overseas obsession is their downfall. They sign some very mediocre Australian players.

The bloke who told me is a very recognised and experienced rugby league player who played in both the NRL and ESL, so I'd think he'd know if a player was ordinary or not.

Sorry Harko but anyone who believes that there are no talented local youngsters at Hull FC knows b*gger all. The players named above have real talent and have all been selected for international duty at some level in their career.

As for last season, we should have made the play-offs, even with the injuries. We just dropped the ball at the end of the season. The injuries were pretty bad though. It's bad enough when you have 12 1st teamers out, but when there's no reserve side to go to and your U21s have more injuries than your 1st team it does make things pretty tough all round.

Did you play State Of Origin, for Australia and spend about ten years in the NRL?
