because it may be as edited as the text was

i see it all the time ibeme

snip a little out and change the meaning

stuey raper was peiced commenting on the breakdown of a players car this week with the words "i wouldnt put it past them" in an edit by the "journo" to make it look like he blamed the dragons

the clip unfortunately still had stuey with his mullet which he had cut off 2 weks ago

There are full versions of the text floating around on the net at various democrat web-sites. If it's the real deal, the editing hasn't caused anything to be taken out of context.

Let me put it to you this way Tight:

Remember when the Bush governement DECLINED to show hundreds/thousands of images of DEAD US soldiers being bought back from Iraq in flag wrapped coffins? You remember the public outcry towards these images?

I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

If the government were refusing to release images of coffins it might be a different story. FEMA requesting photographers not to take photos of piles of dead bodies, especially when many of their family won't have been informed of their deaths doesn't strike me as a coverup.

Tight,

You seem to be hell bent that FEMA is doing this [predominantly] out of respect towards the deceased's families? Fine. However, show me where it states this in the article?

A FEMA spokeswoman told the wire service that space was needed on the rescue boats and assured Reuters that "the recovery of the victims is being treated with dignity and the utmost respect."

It's your opinion . . . just like I have mine, correct?

BTW, dead is dead, mate. What do you think is inside those coffins? You're kidding yourself if you think there's a difference.

As I said before, the pictures will be taken, and if I didn't make myself clear, I think that they should be taken - some of the most important pictures of our time are images of suffering/death. There is, however, a difference between taking pictures for historical records, and taking pictures to satisfy the old maxim of 'if it bleeds, it leads'. I also don't, however, think that FEMA's request (and that is all it was) is indicative of a coverup.

Personally, I don't think that seeing pictures of dead bodies floating down the street isn't going to make people more angry at FEMA's and the government (state, local and federal) reaction to this tragedy. The images of the living from the superdome etc. from the past week should be more than enough to condemn the reaction.

Personally, if a picture of the body of one of my loved ones was being paraded around someone's blog or on the news, I'd be very upset. The victims of the hurricane are just starting to realize all their losses and I think it's disrespectful and rather sick for people to be so focused on what a bloated, drowned body looks like.

There IS a difference between a body in a casket and bodies that are partially decomposed being loaded up to identify.

All that said - FEMA was very clear that they felt it stupid to waste room for photojournalists when they really don't have it. There are many, many dead bodies. Surely the photojournalists can find some on their own.

They are putting GPS tags on the dead bodies, so they can come back later and locate them...

But alligators are now eating the bodies. So will the GPS systems still work?

Alligators stalk streets of New Orleans

08.09.05 6.20am

Alligators are stalking the flooded waters of New Orleans and rescuers fear that they will eat the bodies of Hurricane Katrina's victims.

Michael Rieger, of the federal emergency agency, said patrol boat crews had seen many alligators in the floodwaters.

Authorities have just started the operation to recover what could be thousands of bodies in the floodwaters, on the streets and trapped in homes.

Rieger said: "There are a lot of people who are never going to be found. There are a lot of alligators in the water, and alligators love that type of stuff."

The water is supposed to be toxic, and carrying diseases, and getting worse. Hopefully too much so for the 'gators to hang around.
