Fun game that will almost definately rile some people up but I'm interested to read some people's thoughts

As the title says it's all theoretical, I doubt this would ever happen but..

Let's say the NRL come out and say to the clubs "we only have room for 4/5 of you in Sydney, present to us your business cases for staying"

What do we think each club with their current boards would present, would any see no hope alone and instead look at merging or relocating themselves?

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks each clubs strengths and weakenesses are and how they think the current boards would react

Off the bat I think the Dragons would fully relocate themselves to the gong, and Penrith would try get an exemption as they also represent the further western regional areas outside Sydney

So lets say those 2 stay, and the rest fight it out for 4 spots, geography would say 1 from North south East and west but do we think this is how it would actually play out?

I'll start by saying this is definitely not a 'fun game'.
in fact, the opening post is very passive/aggressive.
Looking for the same theatre that goes from thread to thread.
Get a new schtick, and stop trying to copy others.

Cutting out the most useless clubs

storm would be the first to go

and

That’s about it

and we would never add Perth or Adelaide in a million years

maybe kicking out the broncos and bringing in east tigers

And has nothing to do with Expansion, actual "expansion" of the game is to add more teams, not take them away...

....unwatched
The league can't support more than 20, and is debatable if it can sustain more than 18

Therefore expanding the actual footprint of the game will eventually go hand in hand with rationalisation

Care to add some reasoning and start some actual conversation

right now you would keep Eels, Panthers, Rabbitohs and ugh... the Roosters i guess

but it changes decade by decade, if it was the 90s you would be rigging south sydney head office with semtex and the Bulldogs would probably be first club picked.

I'm genuinly interesting in hearing some arguments and justification for 8.5 teams in Sydney

The regular theatre is a handful of shitposters saying "nah 'x' sucks", bringing up AFL for some reason despite apparently hating it, and baiting other poster into round about "arguments" without ever actually giving any reasonings

The way I see it a lot of Sydney clubs would be better served in the NSW cup, but by doing so creating a MUCH stronger NSW cup, one that would be a good competition in its own right, but also the remaining clubs in the top flight would have a path cleared to become super clubs of Australian sport, eclipsing even the Broncos

In a national comp despite their flaws the roosters are lucky to hold the name Sydney, for example a Melbourne v Sydney game in Melbourne garners much more casual interest as city v city clash

Alao in reference to my previous post, the Roosters are probably the one club from Sydney I don't see thriving in an improved NSW cup, and if given the flick would definately be one I'd see trying to buy into a relocation

North/south/east/west doesn’t really work in Sydney

simple north south east west doesn’t really work for Sydney any more because you’ve got massive imbalances in population and demographics between those parts of the city.

mid you had to narrow it to 4 I reckon Penrith, Parra, Souths would make the cut then it’d be a scrap between the Dogs, Chooks and Sharks for the last spot. Dragons would retreat to the Gong, Tigers and Manly would be toast.

A thread with which to troll. Enjoy those who can be bothered.
Alright I'm bored, ill bite

Bring back the Bears on the central coast,
Keep the dragons in the gong
Penrith in penrith

Inner city clubs = 5
West tigers at Commbank in (gold & Black)
Souths at SFS
Cronulla
Manly
Bulldogs at Accor

Piss off the Eels and Roosters

Keep all other expansion teams, add PNG/WA/SA/NZ2

Horse shit.
You want attention, in any way or form.
You're not smart.
You are a dumb f**k to even think that you are fooling anyone.
